2013 Game Summaries
Week 5 - Choice is just a guy, but he did a nice job helping pick up the slack on his five carries. Choice’s long went for six yards and came on the 3rd drive. Running left on a stretch run, Choice did a nice job cutting back and turning what looked like a short gain into six yards.
Week 6 - Choice received his fair share of touches and just missed the end zone on two separate drives. On the Bills opening drive, Choice caught a swing pass out of the backfield at and was able to get the edge. Working towards the end zone, Choice was bumped out of bounds by Adam Jones just before he extended for the pylon. On the following drive, it was Choice who set the Bills, and ultimately Jackson, up at the Bengal two-yard line. Choice took the handoff and slightly delayed at the hole before exploding through. Untouched until the second level, Choice slipped another tackler before finally getting dragged down at the two.
Week 7 - Choice continues to do a nice job filling in for the hobbled Jackson and Spiller. Obviously unable to replicate the athleticism of either, Choice still does a nice job picking up the yards that are there. Choice twice had runs of five yards (his long on the day), including the first of three consecutive carries on Buffalo’s final three plays as they worked to bleed the clock on the game-winning drive. Choice was also targeted in the passing game once, but the screen fell incomplete as Miami read the play well.
Week 8 - Choice helped fill in for Spiller, but outside of a 20-yard run was relatively ineffective on his other six carries. Taking the hand off on a read option, Choice powered through an awful arm tackle attempt from Malcolm Jenkins in the hole before getting up field. Choice slithered wide and wasn’t touched again until he had already chewed up 18 yards.
Week 9 - Choice received five carries on Sunday, but didn’t find near the success the other runners did. His long went for eight yards and came with the Chiefs expecting pass on 3rd and 10. Choice was also targeted once in the passing game, but was better served not catching the swing pass as it would have been a loss had he caught it.
Week 11 - Choice only received two carries, but like the rest of the rushing “attack”, was ineffective. So ineffective that in his three touches, Choice only amassed one yard.
