Outlook

Carr was a second round selection for the Oakland Raiders and is their next "quarterback of the future" and apparently now their quarterback of the present. A strong preseason and Matt Schaub's struggles have led him to be named the week 1 starter. Carr had a monster season at Fresno State in 2013, becoming only the 4th FBS quarterback to throw for 5,000 yards and 50 touchdowns. Carr is athletic quarterback with a good arm, but some question how much of his production was a result of the spread offense run at Fresno State. His quick release and arm talent will assure he gets a long look. The Raiders offensive line could make things difficult on the rookie.

Latest News

Raiders | Derek Carr tosses three touchdowns (Sun Oct 11, 05:27 PM) - Las Vegas Raiders QB Derek Carr completed 22-of-31 passes for 347 yards, three touchdowns and one interception in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Our View: Carr got the vertical passing game going and exposed a lot of flaws in the Chiefs secondary in this game. He's now in consideration to be a matchup QB1 heading into his bye, and Carr should be rostered in all leagues.
