2013 Game Summaries
Week 11 - Ajirotutu is normally way down the San Diego depth chart in terms of passing targets, but with starting WR Keenan Allen hobbled late in the game, Ajirotutu saw more action than usual. His first catch converted a critical third down reception on the team's last-gasp drive, and his only other catch came on the very next play. It was a pass over the middle, in the typical area where one would usually find Allen making catches.
Week 12 - Ajirotutu saw a bit more work than usual in last week's game, filling in for a hobbled Keenan Allen. With Allen back healthy this week, Ajirotutu took his seat back on the bench - until the team needed him most. Trailing late in the fourth quarter, QB Philip Rivers hoisted a deep ball down the left sideline to Ajirotutu. The receiver hauled in the sliding grab in the end zone for his first catch of the game and arguably the biggest reception for the team this season. It may not lead to much more work going forward, but it did illustrate that he's got the trust of Rivers in a critical spot.
Week 17 - Ajirotutu got his hands on a deep ball down the sideline. He looked to have it on the way up but couldn't quite squeeze it at the end to bring it in on the way down. He's not a focal point of the offense, but he is a decent deep threat when the team picks its spots with him.
