Vikings | Minnesota adds Albert Wilson Tue May 31, 08:20 PM
Free-agent WR Albert Wilson (Dolphins) signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings Tuesday, May 31, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: The Vikings also offered a contract to free agent WR Dede Westbrook but he has not yet agreed to the contract as other teams have shown interest. Wilson did not do much with the Dolphins in three seasons (he opted out of 2020) with only one 100-yard game during that time. Now with the Vikings, the veteran receiver will compete for a spot on the depth chart behind Justin Jefferson, Adam Thielen, and K.J. Osborn. |

Dolphins | Albert Wilson not practicing Thu Aug 26, 05:43 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (undisclosed) has been sidelined for the second straight week because of a soft tissue injury.
Footballguys view: Wilson had a strong open to camp and was on track to secure a role in the passing game before this injury in an all too familiar twist during his Dolphins career. He could be the top receiver in the slot if he stays healthy, but that's a big ask of him these days. |

Dolphins | Albert Wilson expected to be fine Sat Aug 21, 06:25 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (undisclosed) has missed several practices over the last week but is not dealing with a serious injury, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Wilson was making waves with his play in camp and moving into a large role in the pass offense. This injury will slow down his chemistry building with Tua Tagovailoa, but probably won't keep him from lowering the ceiling of everyone else in this pass offense. |

Dolphins | Albert Wilson not practicing Sun Aug 15, 02:23 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson (undisclosed) did not participate in practice Sunday, Aug. 15, because of an injury.
Footballguys view: Wilson had been having a fabulous camp until the injury, carving out a role in an already crowded wide receiver group. He could be a primary slot receiver and lower the opportunity for Mike Gesicki if he says healthy. |

Miami Dolphins WR Allen Hurns will be competing with WRs Albert Wilson, Jakeem Grant and Mack Hollins for one or two spots. Wilson and Grant may already have an early edge over Hurns.

Miami Dolphins WRs Albert Wilson, Jakeem Grant and Allen Hurns are all potential cap casualties, in the opinion of The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson.

Dolphins | Albert Wilson officially on reserve list Wed Aug 5, 05:30 PM
Updating a previous story, Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson was officially placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Footballguys view: Wilson is now the second Dolphins WR to opt out this year, joining Allen Hurns in the decision to miss the 2020 season. The team is getting thinner at the position. DeVante Parker and Preston Williams are the top two receivers with Jakeem Grant and Isaiah Ford as the No.3 and No.4 options. |

Dolphins | Albert Wilson may be top slot option Fri May 29, 06:57 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson appears to be the leading candidate for the slot receiver job this upcoming season.
Footballguys view: Wilson should be the slot receiver and no.3 on the depth chart behind DeVante Parker and Preston Williams. That doesn't make him much of a fantasy factor in 2020 as Wilson could catch around 40 passes this year. |

Dolphins | Albert Wilson quicker than ever? Thu May 28, 09:39 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson is one of several Dolphins players working out with longtime trainer Pete Bommarito this offseason, and Bommarito says it has been Wilson's best. 'Wait until you see him run,' Bommarito said. 'This is the fastest I have seen him. Not only does he have that bad-ass shifty side and quick feet, but you look at his second gear and he looks spectacular. You will see the second gear this year.'
Footballguys view: If healthy, Wilson should catch around 35-40 passes for the Dolphins this year as a reserve receiver. That doesn't make him much of a fantasy factor no matter how much his quickness has improved. |

Dolphins | Albert Wilson restructures Tue May 5, 08:16 AM
Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson restructured his contract Tuesday, May 5, which is now worth a base value of $3 million with $1 million more in potential incentives.
Footballguys view: Wilson was in the final year of his contract and was due $9.5 million with $1.3 million in dead money. Rather than pay that dead money and release him, the team decided to keep Wilson around on a better contract. He'll compete with Allen Hurns for the starting slot job for the Dolphins. DeVante Parker and Preston Williams start on the outside once again in 2020. |

Dolphins | Albert Wilson may be asked to rework deal Fri Jan 24, 04:20 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson likely will be asked to restructure his contract this offseason if he wants to remain with the team. The Dolphins would save $9.5 million in salary cap space if they release Wilson.
Footballguys view: Wilson has had trouble staying healthy since the team signed him. With Allen Hurns, Preston Williams, and DeVante Parker under contract for multiple years, Wilson might be seen as superfluous. |

Dolphins | Albert Wilson on the cutting block? Mon Jan 13, 10:33 PM
Miami Dolphins WR Albert Wilson is scheduled to count $10.833 million against the 2020 salary cap and carries a dead-cap charge of $1.333, making him a possible cut for the Dolphins.
Footballguys view: Calf and hip injuries limited Wilson in 2019 and he was only able to play in 13 games this past season. Wilson had 43 catches for 351 yards and only one touchdown. He has not worked out as the team had hoped and the Dolphins may want to move on to free up cap space and add better talent to the position. |

Dolphins | Week 17 final stats for Dolphins Sun Dec 29, 04:11 PM
Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 28-of-41 passes for 320 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions while running for 15 yards and a score in a stunning Week 17 road upset of the New England Patriots. RB Patrick Laird was the leading rusher with just 21 yards on 11 carries, while WR DeVante Parker led the way with a game-high 137 receiving yards on eight catches for 11 targets. WR Isaiah Ford managed seven grabs for 54 yards on nine targets, WR Albert Wilson was good for five catches for 59 yards on eight targets and TE Mike Gesicki posted a touchdown while totaling 34 yards on four receptions. CB Eric Rowe also had a 35-yard interception for touchdown.
Footballguys view: Fitzpatrick created fantasy value in the most improbable place this year, and helped both Parker and Gesicki arrive in fantasy leagues. The Dolphins 2020 quarterback situation is up in the air, but both Parker and Gesicki will be drafted and Parker could be as high as a WR2 after this performance against Stephon Gilmore punctuated his breakout season. |
