Lions | Tyrell Williams cut from IR Fri Nov 5, 07:39 PM
Detroit Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) was waived from the Reserve/Injured list Friday, Nov. 5, after the two sides reached an injury settlement.
Footballguys view: Williams was signed this offseason to possibly be the Lions top receiver. Instead, Williams was concussed in Week 1 after catching only two passes for 14 yards. He's been on the road to recovery since then, and now Williams will be looking for a new team. |

Lions | Tyrell Williams lands on IR Thu Sep 23, 12:30 PM
Detroit Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) on Thursday, Sept. 23, was placed on the Reserve/Injured list.
Footballguys view: Williams will now be cleared to return in Week 6 if he's able to come back at that time. The Lions turn to Quintez Cephus to get more targets with Williams out. Cephus has flex appeal for Fantasy GMs in deeper leagues. |

Detroit Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) on Saturday, Sept. 18, was ruled out of the team's Week 2 game against the Green Bay Packers.

DE Levi Onwuzurike (hip) practiced in full.
Footballguys view: Quintez Cephus moves into the starting lineup with Williams sidelined. Swift and Williams should play and both are viable RB2/Flex starts in PPR leagues, but remember that Jermar Jefferson is the #3 back here in case one or both aggravate their injuries Monday. |

Lions | Team down on Tyrell Williams' chances Thu Sep 16, 01:05 PM
Detroit Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) wasn't at the team's facility Thursday, Sept. 16, as the Lions ramped up preparations for their Week 2 Monday night game against the Green Bay Packers. 'Right now, it doesn't look great,' head coach Dan Campbell said Thursday of Williams' chances of playing Monday. 'But we'll see what tomorrow looks like.'
Footballguys view: The Lions will likely be without Williams this week. That means we could see more from guys like Quintez Cephus, Trinity Benson, Kalif Raymond and Amon-Ra St. Brown on Monday night. If the Packers bounce back...and they should...then the Lions will likely have to go into 'catch up' mode like they did against the 49ers in Week 1. |

Lions | Tyrell Williams in concussion protocol Mon Sep 13, 02:17 PM
Detroit Lions WR Tyrell Williams (concussion) was placed in the league's concussion protocol Monday, Sept. 13.
Footballguys view: Williams will go through the protocol which may include limited practice participation this week if he responds well. The Lions can turn to guys like Kalif Raymond, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Quintez Cephus and Trinity Benson. However, the offense mainly operates through tight end T.J. Hockenson and running backs D'Andre Swift and Jamaal Williams. |

Lions | Tyrell Williams nursing groin injury Wed Aug 25, 01:43 PM
Detroit Lions WR Tyrell Williams (groin) is currently sidelined with a groin injury but expected to return to practice next week, according to Tim Twentyman of the team's website.
Footballguys view: Williams is arguably the top wide receiver for the Lions...which says a lot. This groin injury is seen as minor but monitor this due to the large role Williams could have in their passing game. |

Detroit Lions WR Tyrell Williams 'appears to be' the No. 1 receiver for QB Jared Goff during practices, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press.
Footballguys view: Williams isn't going to run the whole route tree, but he can make a difference downfield and after the catch on crossing routes. He could have some spot start viability if he's completely over his foot problems. |

Raiders | Tyrell Williams officially released Wed Feb 24, 05:01 PM
Updating a previous story, Las Vegas Raiders WR Tyrell Williams was released Wednesday, Feb. 24.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. Williams was signed a couple of years ago with the idea that he could be a leading receiver for the Raiders. Instead, he's been banged up and ineffective when he's on the field. The veteran is a depth player who could get some interest now that he's on the open market. |

Raiders | Tyrell Williams to be released Thu Feb 11, 05:21 PM
Las Vegas Raiders WR Tyrell Williams will be released at the start of the new league year, according to a source.

Raiders | Tyrell Williams could be let go Sat Jan 16, 10:17 PM
Las Vegas Raiders WR Tyrell Williams may be a cap casualty this season because the team would save $11.6 million in salary cap space if they release him.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. Things haven't gone the way the Raiders planned since they picked Williams up. Injury or ineffectiveness (miscast as their no.1 receiver a year ago) have plagued his time with the Raiders. They have a nice collection of young WR talent like Henry Ruggs, Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards to move forward with. |

Updating a previous story, Las Vegas Raiders WR Tyrell Williams (shoulder) will undergo surgery for a torn labrum later this month and will be sidelined for six months, according to a source Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Footballguys view: Williams has been banged up each of the last two years with the Raiders. He'll miss the 2020 season even though he wanted to try and play through this injury. The Raiders move forward with a young trio of wide receivers at the top of the depth chart including Henry Ruggs, Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards. |

Raiders | Tyrell Williams has torn labrum Mon Aug 24, 04:39 PM
Las Vegas Raiders WR Tyrell Williams (shoulder) has a torn labrum in his shoulder but will try to play through the injury after a few weeks of rehab, according to sources.
Footballguys view: That's not a recipe for success. Williams struggled with a foot injury last year and will try to do the same this year but with a different injury. We should see the Raiders get more out of Henry Ruggs, Bryan Edwards and Hunter Renfrow with Williams banged up and not at 100 percent. |

Raiders | Tyrell Williams improving Wed Aug 12, 04:18 PM
Las Vegas Raiders WR Tyrell Williams (feet) is 'over the hump' with his plantar fasciitis issue but is continuing to do daily maintenance.
Footballguys view: Williams is not a no.1 receiver and he's got to be healthy. Last year, Williams saw top coverage as the no.1 receiver for the Raiders and he was banged up. Now healthy and the no.2 receiver, Williams should be a more consistent performer...but not terribly exciting for Fantasy GMs. |

Raiders | WRs a sore subject for Las Vegas GM Tue Apr 14, 09:26 PM
Las Vegas Raiders WRs Tyrell Williams, Nelson Agholor and Hunter Renfrow are currently expected to be the team's top three receivers on the depth chart, but general manager Mike Mayock recently acknowledged during a pre-draft interview with ESPN's Dan Graziano that 'we need to get better at wideout.'
Footballguys view: The Raiders were supposed to have Antonio Brown as their No.1 receiver last year...and we all know how that ended up. Expect them to add a wide receiver at some point in the 2020 NFL draft, perhaps even in the first round. This is the best WR class in NFL history, so there will be plenty of talent available if the Raiders want to wait. |

Raiders | Tyrell Williams close to 100 percent Thu Feb 27, 01:04 PM
Oakland Raiders WR Tyrell Williams (foot) recently told head coach Jon Gruden that he was close to 100 percent recovered from the plantar fasciitis he dealt with last season, Gruden said Thursday, Feb. 27.
Footballguys view: Williams 11 million dollar salary for 2020 was guaranteed earlier in the offseason and the team seems happy with him despite what the injuries took from Williams last year. He could be a bounce back candidate next season after a strong start in 2019 indicates a bigger season coming than what Williams finished with. |

Raiders | Tyrell Williams a popular target Thu Feb 6, 11:04 PM
Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr had a 112.6 quarterback rating when targeting WR Tyrell Williams in 2019, the highest rating to any receiver in his career.
Footballguys view: Williams was a popular target but he was supposed to be the Raiders No.2 receiver in 2019. Instead, after the Antonio Brown fiasco, Williams was thrust into the No.1 role and didn't post massive numbers in 13 games. We should see the Raiders emphasize finding a true No.1 receiver either through free agency or the draft. |

Raiders | Tyrell Williams has salary guaranteed Wed Feb 5, 06:33 PM
Oakland Raiders WR Tyrell Williams' $11 million base salary for 2020 became full guaranteed Wednesday, Feb. 5.
Footballguys view: Williams wasn't supposed to be their No.1 receiver in 2019...as they thought they had something with Antonio Brown. When Brown was released, the Raiders thrust Williams into a role that doesn't fit him. Expect the team to add WR talent this offseason through the draft or free agency. |
