Green Packers Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling has put together two straight strong practices, head coach Matt LaFleur said Saturday, Aug. 22.

Packers | Marquez Valdes-Scantling targeted deep    Sat Jul 18, 02:54 PM

Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling finished fourth in the league in 2019 with an average depth of target of 16.9 yards, according to Pro Football Reference's advanced receiving data.

Footballguys view: Allen Lazard should get more deep targets this year, and Devin Funchess could also soak up some of the extra deep targets that Valdes-Scantling won't get unless he has a very strong training camp. The Packers still only have one reliable passcatcher for fantasy leagues.

OT Bryan Bulaga (rest), TE Jimmy Graham (ankle), TE Marcedes Lewis (rest), S Will Redmond (ankle) and CB Tramon Williams (knee) were also limited Friday but were removed from the injury report. S Adrian Amos (shoulder), CB Tony Brown (hamstring), LB Oren Burks (chest), DL Kenny Clark (shin), LB B.J. Goodson (shoulder), WR Allen Lazard (back), LB Blake Martinez (wrist), QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) and WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (ankle, knee) were full participants in practice Friday and also no longer appear on the injury report.

Footballguys view: This is basically confirmation that Adams will be out. He could return in Week 9, but a return after the Packers Week 11 bye is still in play. The Packers medical staff is conservative and they would be smart to trade games without Adams now for games with him at a higher level of play later in the season because Aaron Rodgers is playing well.

Packers | Marquez Valdes-Scantling able to finish    Tue Oct 15, 12:39 AM

Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling finished with two catches and 48 yards in Week 6 against the Detroit Lions. He left the game briefly due to an undisclosed injury, but was able to return and finish.

Footballguys view: Valdes-Scantling's deep catch was an over the shoulder beaut. He's worth holding to wait for Davante Adams return, which will actually help him get more one-on-ones in the deep passing game. He might hit vs. Oakland this week, but watch the practice reports to make sure his injury doesn't flare up with the adrenaline out of his system.

Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (calf, hamstring) fully participated in practice Saturday, Oct. 12, and is not on the injury report for Week 6.

Footballguys view: That's a good sign for Valdes-Scantling. He's likely the No. 1 wide receiver for the Packers with Davante Adams (toe) out on Monday night against the Lions. Geronimo Allison is the No. 2 receiver behind Valdes-Scantling.

Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling tallied three catches for 47 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4.

Footballguys view: Valdes-Scantling was disappointing in the great matchup. He was targeted on the last Packers offensive play and might have been interfered with, but the pass was deflected and intercepted to end the game. He'll be a boom/bust WR3/Flex with a high ceiling if Davante Adams misses the matchup with the Cowboys.

Packers | Marquez Valdes-Scantling earns praise    Thu Jul 25, 03:53 PM

Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling has 'really jumped out' since spring practices, according to QB Aaron Rodgers.'There's a big difference between a guy who can time fast and play fast. And playing fast is where the confidence comes,' Rodgers told James Jones of NFL Network.

Footballguys view: This has been a consistent drumbeat all offseason long. We're excited to see who emerges at the WR position behind Davante Adams this year. This battle between guys like Valdes-Scantling, Geronimo Allison and Jake Kumerow will play itself out in training camp.

Packers | Mentor for Marquez Valdes-Scantling    Sun Jul 14, 10:16 PM

Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling said he has been working out with retired WR Randy Moss four days a week to prepare of the upcoming season.

Footballguys view: Be on the lookout for Valdes-Scantling this year. He could win the No. 2 job for the Packers opposite of Davante Adams. The second-year pro can create separation and should continue to build trust with QB Aaron Rodgers. His current ADP is WR42 (9.07) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Packers | Marquez Valdes-Scantling got open in 2018    Thu Jun 20, 02:46 PM

Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling created at least one step of separation on 70.3 percent of his targets (excluding screens), ranking third among the 72 receivers with at least 50 targets in 2018, according to Pro Football Focus.

Footballguys view: Valdes-Scantling is big (6'4" 206 pounds) and has blazing speed. Behind Davante Adams, the Packers are looking for playmakers at the WR position. That just might be Valdes-Scantling this season. He's looking to take what he showed in a four-game stretch last year (Week 6 through Week 10) and produce that way for a whole season. He could be a value pick at his current ADP of WR50 (11.04) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Packers | Green Bay to carry seven WRs?    Thu Jun 20, 02:53 AM

Green Bay Packers WRs Davante Adams, Geronimo Allison, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Equanimeous St. Brown, Jake Kumerow, J'Mon Moore and Trevor Davis could all make the 53-man roster, in the opinion of Packers Wire's Zach Kruse, with Adams, Allison, Valdes-Scantling and St. Brown viewed as locks.

Footballguys view: Seven is a big number for the wide receiver position. Most teams keep around five or six wide receivers depending on the makeup of the rest of the roster. We've heard good things this offseason about Valdes-Scantling and Kumerow, so Fantasy GMs should watch their progress closely in training camp and the preseason. Behind Adams and Allison, those two seem the most likely to make the 53-man roster.

Packers | Marquez Valdes-Scantling the No. 2 option?    Thu Jun 13, 09:41 PM

Green Bay Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling has been lining up across from WR Davante Adams in all packages during minicamp.

Footballguys view: Aaron Rodgers can support the fantasy value of a second wide receiver behind Davante Adams, but it's unclear who it will be. Valdes-Scantling and possible starter Geronimo Allison both got there for a stretch last year, and Jake Kumerow could also have something to say about the outcome here.
