Football Team | Logan Thomas catches TD pass    Sun Oct 25, 06:44 PM

Washington Football Team TE Logan Thomas caught four passes for 60 yards and one touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 7. He was targeted four times during the game.

Footballguys view: Thomas was able to score and looked good against the Cowboys, which should encourage us to start Richard Rodgers against Dallas next week. If Thomas was the best fantasy tight end on your roster this year, you should probably carry him through the bye.

Football Team | Logan Thomas posts four receptions    Sun Sep 27, 05:22 PM

Washington Football Team TE Logan Thomas registered four receptions for 31 yards on seven targets in Week 3 against the Cleveland Browns.

Footballguys view: Thomas's stats have been eerily similar from game to game with the exception of the Week 1 touchdown. He's just injury depth in this low wattage offense.

Football Team | Logan Thomas enjoying great camp    Thu Aug 27, 08:47 PM

Washington Football Team TE Logan Thomas has been 'arguably the biggest standout of Washington's training camp so far,' according to Washington Wire's Zachary Neel, who adds that Thomas has 'securely grabbed (a) hold of the starting TE position and developed a nice rapport with Haskins in the passing game.'

Footballguys view: Thomas is very athletic and natural catching the ball and should have a lot of opportunity in an offense without any established veteran wide receivers. He should be on your early season waiver wire watch list.

Football Team | Logan Thomas is on the rise    Tue Aug 25, 01:34 AM

Washington Football Team TE Logan Thomas, a converted quarterback, is on the rise and in the hunt for the team's starting tight end job.

Footballguys view: Thomas has an athletic profile...he always had dating back to his days at Virginia Tech. He's been trying to play tight end for some time now, so perhaps he's finally hitting his stride at the position. Keep an eye on Thomas in super deep formats.

Football Team | Logan Thomas ready to practice    Sun Aug 9, 02:24 PM

Washington Football Team TE Logan Thomas was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday, Aug. 9.

Footballguys view: Thomas has a chance to lead the Washington tight ends in receptions. The former quarterback has flashed excellent hands and athleticism in a small sample with the Lions. Leading the Washington tight end group is still probably not a path to fantasy relevance, but Thomas is worth monitoring in deep tight end premium leagues.

Redskins | Logan Thomas draws high praise    Wed Jun 17, 09:37 PM

Washington Redskins TE Logan Thomas is expected to compete with Jeremy Sprinkle and Richard Rodgers for the starting job at tight end, but Kyle Stackpole of the team's website believes Thomas could be the frontrunner to win the job based on some of the feedback he has received from the new coaching staff.'Logan Thomas is a guy that we see some glimpses of (Greg Olsen's) type of athletic ability. (Tight ends coach) Pete Hoener ... felt very strongly about this guy's abilities, mostly because he thought he was a very smart and savvy football player, he's a tremendous athlete and he's just learning and getting the position right now,' head coach Ron Rivera said.

Footballguys view: Thomas is a converted quarterback from Virginia Tech who has been playing tight end for a few years. Washington is looking for him to contribute behind Jeremy Sprinkle. There's not a ton of fantasy value here with Thomas in 2020.

Redskins | Logan Thomas likely to make roster    Fri May 22, 07:44 PM

Washington Redskins TE Logan Thomas likely will make the final roster in part because the team targeted him in free agency, in the opinion of NBC Sports Washington's JP Finlay.

Footballguys view: Thomas set career highs last year with 16 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown. The converted quarterback is a depth player with his new team. Washington's TE room is much different with Vernon Davis retiring and Jordan Reed moving on. Jeremy Sprinkle, a fifth-round pick in 2017, should be the team's starter.

Redskins | Coaches excited about Logan Thomas    Tue Apr 7, 03:03 PM

Washington Redskins TE Logan Thomas has tight ends coach Pete Hoener excited about his smarts, savvy and athletic ability, according to head coach Ron Rivera Tuesday, April 7.

Footballguys view: A converted quarterback, Thomas has been trying to play tight end for the last three seasons. That's plenty of time to learn the position, but the upside and potential is still there because we haven't seen his athletic skills turn into real production on the field.

Redskins | Logan Thomas agrees with Washington    Thu Mar 19, 09:36 AM

Free-agent TE Logan Thomas (Lions) agreed to an undisclosed deal with the Washington Redskins Thursday, March 19.

Footballguys view: Washington will have a new-look tight end group with Vernon Davis and Jordan Reed gone. Thomas is a converted quarterback who has flashed just a little bit as a tight end in his various stops around the NFL. He'll work behind Jeremy Sprinkle and try to find a spot on the depth chart.

Detroit Lions TE Logan Thomas is a candidate to start at quarterback against the Chicago Bears Thursday, Nov. 28, if QB Jeff Driskel (hamstring) is unable to play. He's the team's emergency QB and will be ready if called upon. 'Nothing's been said to me, but I understand the game plan pretty well,' Thomas said. 'I promise you, if I have to go back there I'm going to just sling it and whatever happens, happens.' Thomas was drafted as a QB by the Arizona Cardinals in 2014.

Lions | Darrell Bevell excited about TE room    Sun Jul 7, 12:53 PM

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said he's excited about the team's options at tight end heading into the 2019 season. 'I think that whole room has been a big upgrade in all ways,' he said. 'From Jesse (James) to T.J. (Hockenson) to Logan (Thomas) ... it's a great group for us to work with to kind of sift through those guys and find out what they're doing well,' said Bevell. 'But that's a talented group. We're really excited about all of those guys.'

Footballguys view: Bevell should be excited about the room as the Lions upgraded the position through free agency (James, Thomas) and the draft (Hockenson). The question is not talent with the Lions tight end group -- it's usage. Will Bevell use his tight ends more? The Lions want to run the ball early and often (Kerryon Johnson, hello!) but they could mix in some play-action passes geared towards getting these tight ends involved. If they do use tight ends more in 2019, things are shaping up to be a TEBC which obviously negatively impacts the fantasy value of guys like James or Hockenson.

Lions | Detroit could make use of three tight ends    Tue Jun 4, 05:37 PM

Detroit Lions TEs Jesse James (6-foot-7, 261 pounds), T.J. Hockenson (6-foot-5, 251), Michael Roberts (6-foot-5, 265) and Logan Thomas (6-foot-6, 250) all possess the ability to detach from the line of scrimmage and create mismatches, according to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Birkett also notes he wouldn't be surprised if the Lions play with three tight ends on the field at times - even outside goal-line or short-yardage situations.

Footballguys view: Good news for all these tight ends but bad news for Fantasy GMs. It's a bit of a cluster at the position. We love Hockenson's upside and potential but he's going to have to work in and try to emerge from a TEBC as a rookie.

Lions | More to come from Logan Thomas?    Fri Mar 29, 11:06 PM

Detroit Lions TE Logan Thomas has not 'hit his ceiling' yet, according to general manager Bob Quinn.

Footballguys view: Thomas has been a project at the tight end position for quite some time. A converted quarterback from Virginia Tech, Thomas has been trying to convert to tight end for most of his pro career. He had a career-high 12 catches for 77 yards in 2018 with the Bills. Thomas is a deep dynasty prospect in a cramped room now that he's with the Lions.

Lions | Detroit adds Logan Thomas     Thu Mar 21, 02:32 PM

Free-agent TE Logan Thomas (Bills) was signed to an undisclosed deal by the Detroit Lions Thursday, March 21.

Footballguys view: The Lions added Jesse James earlier this offseason as they revamp their tight end room. James will be the lead tight end, while Michael Roberts could be the red-zone threat. Thomas has athleticism but we'll have to wait and see how he fits in this cramped group of tight ends.
