Packers | Jace Sternberger ready to return    Mon Aug 17, 06:22 PM

Green Bay Packers TE Jace Sternberger was activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Aug. 17.

Footballguys view: Sternberger has intriguing upside as a tight end prospect if he can stay healthy. We'll see how his development goes in his second season after his rookie season was a wash due to injury.

Packers | Jace Sternberger ready for larger role    Tue May 12, 04:05 PM

Green Bay Packers TE Jace Sternberger is looking forward to the opportunity to play a larger role within the offense in 2020 after Jimmy Graham signed with the Chicago Bears in free agency. 'That's one thing that we've all discussed, that I will have the opportunity for my role to be bigger,' Sternberger said. 'It's all how I handle it and what I can prove. It goes back to me and this opportunity. I'm just really excited about it, and I'm just definitely ready for it.'

Footballguys view: Sternberger, a third-round pick out of Texas A&M in 2019, has the talent to be a quality starter in this league. He appeared in a small handful of games as a rookie due to injury and was only targeted with one pass in the regular season (that was not completed). Sternberger is not much of a blocker but he's a fine route-runner and can create after the catch. He's not a burner by any means but he does get open with savvy and guile. The second-year pro could be a fine underneath target for Aaron Rodgers in 2020. He's off the radar in fantasy drafts right now, but keep this guy on your waiver wire speed dial. The talent and opportunity are there for him to sneak into that TE2 range.

Packers | Opportunity for Jace Sternberger    Sat Apr 11, 10:18 PM

Green Bay Packers TE Jace Sternberger has 'dynamic ability in the passing game,' according to general manager Robert Gutekunst, and Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com expects Sternberger to be given a shot to be the No. 1 tight end in 2020.

Footballguys view: Sternberger's rookie season was a wash due to injury as he only played 60 snaps and appeared in six games...getting targeted once with zero catches. A third-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft, Sternberger has an athletic profile and could be the Packers lead tight end this season. He could perform like a TE2 this year and is worth taking a flier on late in deeper leagues.

Packers | Jace Sternberger impresses GM    Fri Jan 24, 12:54 PM

Green Bay Packers TE Jace Sternberger impressed general manager Brian Gutekunst with his progress after he returned from the Reserve/Injured list late in the season. 'He can be one of those, as he develops, who can play from a lot of different places and be a matchup problem,' Gutekunst said Friday, Jan. 24.

Footballguys view: Sternberger has great speed and ability to rip the seam as a receiving tight end. He should be on 2020 fantasy sleep lists with Aaron Rodgers settling into Matt LaFleur's offense.

Packers | Jace Sternberger activated from IR    Sat Nov 2, 04:11 PM

Green Bay Packers TE Jace Sternberger (ankle) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Nov. 2

Footballguys view: Sternberger was a third-round pick out of Texas A&M in the 2019 NFL draft. He shines as a pass-catcher and can be a weapon down the seams. Sternberger will be mixed into action behind Jimmy Graham and one day take over as the starter at the position. We love him in dynasty formats but are just monitoring him in deep re-draft formats.

Packers | Two PUP players able to practice    Wed Oct 16, 09:35 PM

Green Bay Packers SS Ibraheim Campbell (knee) and TE Jace Sternberger (ankle) were able to practice Wednesday, Oct. 16. The team has 21 days to let them practice to decide upon activating them and having the players count against the 53-man roster.

Footballguys view: Sternberger could be a shot in the arm for an offense that isn't getting much from Jimmy Graham. Monitor his status in TE premium leagues.

Updating a previous story, Green Bay Packers TE Jace Sternberger (ankle) was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain, sending him to the injured reserve Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Footballguys view: Sternberger is going to miss at least half the season. If he returns this year, the rookie will work behind Jimmy Graham. This injury stinks, but we still like Sternberger as a dynasty prospect.

Packers | Jace Sternberger may have concussion    Tue Aug 6, 10:16 PM

Green Bay Packers TE Jace Sternberger (head, jaw) is being evaluated for a concussion after being hit during practice Monday, Aug. 5. He is also dealing with a jaw injury.

Footballguys view: Bad news here, and we'll see when the rookie tight end can get back on the field. He's going to work as a backup to Jimmy Graham this year but Sternberger could be the future at the position. He's athletic and capable of creating mismatches as a receiving weapon for Aaron Rodgers.
