The Houston Texans have placed FB Brad Smelley (back, calf) and TE Garrett Graham (hamstring) on Injured Reserve. The team also signed practice squad RB Chad Spann and TE Phillip Supernaw to their active roster. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
| Footballguys view: Still keep an eye on Spann in super deep dynasty leagues. However, we like the stock of rookie Ray Graham better. We'll see Jonathan Grimes as the starting running back for the Texans in Week 17. |

Yates (back), WR DeAndre Hopkins (ankle), OT Derek Newton (knee), LB Brooks Reed (thumb), LB Justin Tuggle (elbow), CB Josh Victorian (back) and SS D.J. Swearinger (foot) fully participated in practice.

Watt (hand), LS Jonathan Weeks (elbow) and QB T.J. Yates are probable. Keenum and Posey missed practice Friday, Dec. 20. Jones, Joseph, Sharpton, both Smiths, Mays, Tuggle and Swearinger were limited while the others practiced in full.

The Cleveland Browns continued to overhaul their roster on Sunday, Sept. 1, releasing OL Caylin Hauptmann, OL Jarrod Shaw and FB Brad Smelley. The team also claimed TE's MarQueis Gray and Keavon Milton, RB's Dennis Johnson and Bobby Rainey, OL Patrick Lewis and LB Brandon Magee off waivers.

Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner used RB Chris Ogbonnaya as a fullback in two-back sets during offseason workouts, but said the team is likely to keep a traditional fullback in the offense. When asked if Ogbonnaya, a tailback, can fill that role, Turner said, 'He can do some of it.' It appears FBs Owen Marecic and Brad Smelley will be fighting for one roster spot.
| Footballguys view: "Silent G" is certainly capable of lining up at fullback if need be. He's a good inside runner and decent receiver out of the backfield. |

The Cleveland Browns have TEs Gary Barnidge, Kellen Davis and Brad Smelley behind projected starter Jordan Cameron on the roster. Barnidge has done a good job of blocking, as has Davis, while Smelley could find a role as a H-back because of his receiving ability.
