Chicago Bears TE Adam Shaheen (foot) was activated from the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Nov. 17, according to a source. The team also placed TE Dion Sims (concussion) on the Reserve/Injured list.
Footballguys view: Shaheen will now work to get some targets behind starting tight end Trey Burton. He's a big and athletic target who could be a nice addition for the Bears offense, especially in the red zone. |

Chicago Bears TE Dion Sims is still a valuable piece to the puzzle, according to head coach Matt Nagy. 'The nice thing with Dion is that he's a guy that's proven to be a solid blocker,' Nagy said. 'He can be in there and be your Y-tight end, but yet he still has really good hands. He can make plays on intermediate routes.'
Footballguys view: Sims is kind of the forgotten man at the TE position for the Bears. Second-year pro Adam Shaheen is an exciting dynasty prospect and the Bears added Trey Burton in free agency this offseason. Burton and Shaheen will compete to be the primary pass-catching tight end. Sims is a 'Y' meaning that his game is more all-purpose than your 'F' (receiving) tight ends. |

Chicago Bears TE Dion Sims likely would receive interest from the Miami Dolphins if the Bears decide to release him this offseason.
Footballguys view: Sims is a big-bodied blocker and not much of a threat as a pass catcher. The Dolphins would continue to use Sims in a similar fashion...call him the anti-Julius Thomas due to his skill set. |

Chicago Bears TE Dion Sims is 'likely' to be released before $4 million of his contract becomes guaranteed on March 16, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.
Footballguys view: In his first season with the Bears, Sims only caught 15 passes for 180 yards and one touchdown. The Bears are set with second-year tight end Adam Shaheen as the lead player at the position. Sims is a big-bodied blocker who won't be much of a receiving asset for any team that picks him up. |

Free-agent TE Dion Sims (Dolphins) has agreed to a three-year, $18-million deal with the Chicago Bears, according to sources. The deal includes $10 million in guarantees.
Footballguys view: Sims wasn't great but he was about the best thing they had at the position. The upside is that Miami can grab a good tight end in the draft and guys like Martellus Bennett are still available in free agency. We don't have high hopes for Sims with the Bears either given the quarterback situation. |

Miami Dolphins impending free-agent TE Dion Sims is a player the Dolphins are still interested in re-signing even though they have an agreement to acquire Jacksonville Jaguars TE Julius Thomas, according to a source.
Footballguys view: They'll need to see if they can keep Sims as Thomas has never played a full 16-game season in his pro career. Sims had a career-high 26 catches and a career-high four touchdowns in 2016. |

Miami Dolphins impending free-agent TE Dion Sims said head coach Adam Gase told him that he wants Sims to re-sign with the Dolphins and that Sims would be the starting tight end. 'He told me he wants me back as a No. 1,' Sims said. 'I want to be back. I have obviously proven myself to be a starting tight end in the league and want to continue in that role. I've done some great things this year and improved a lot.'
Footballguys view: Sims has been sporadically useful in fantasy but with the host of other weapons in Miami, his role will never be all that huge, even as the "Number 1." |

Miami Dolphins TE Dion Sims finished with four catches for 31 yards and two touchdowns in a 34-13 win over the New York Jets Saturday, Dec. 17.
Footballguys view: Sims is coming on just in time for his entry into free agency in the offseason. He's on our radar for the matchup against Buffalo next week. |
