Giants | Thursday's practice report for NY Giants    Thu Nov 23, 02:22 PM

New York Giants DL Dexter Lawrence (hamstring) and OT Evan Neal (ankle) did not practice on Thursday, Nov. 23.   Giants | Sterling Shepard to be activated    Sun Jul 30, 10:27 AM

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (knee) is expected to be activated from the Physically Unable to Perform list and will be on the field for practice Sunday, July 30, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Shepard probably won't have a big fantasy impact, but he posted 13-154-1 in three games last year before tearing his left ACL. He could make it more difficult for Darius Slayton, Parris Campbell, and Isaiah Hodgins to have consistent fantasy value if he's ready to go to begin the season.

Giants | Sterling Shepard aiming for Week 1    Sat Jun 17, 12:06 PM

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (knee) is 'a little bit ahead' of schedule in his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and is aiming to be ready by Week 1, he said on Tuesday, June 13.

Footballguys view: Shepard was knocked out of action last year in Week 3 with this ACL injury. Earlier this offseason, the Giants kept Shepard around on a one-year deal. They've been easing him back into action, and Shepard may not do much in training camp or the preseason as he prepares to be ready for Week 1.

Giants | Sterling Shepard able to run    Fri May 26, 01:51 AM

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (knee) was running routes at practice Thursday, May 25.

Footballguys view: Good news here, but Shepard is not yet in the clear. He's recovering from his torn ACL from Week 3 of last season. Shepard is back to running routes, but the Giants might decide that beginning training camp on the PUP list is best for the veteran receiver as he continues to recover.

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard officially became a free agent on Wednesday, Feb. 15, due to a clause in his contract that voids it three days after the Super Bowl. The veteran wideout will cost the Giants $4.3 million in dead money in 2023.

Footballguys view: Last offseason, Shepard agreed to a reworked contract and this stipulation was added at that time. He's on the open market. and Shepard should get a one-year "prove it" contract because of his long injury history.

Giants | Sterling Shepard has torn ACL    Tue Sep 27, 12:20 PM

Updating an earlier report, New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (knee) suffered a torn left anterior cruciate ligament and is done for the season.

Footballguys view: Shepard will miss the rest of the season once again, and he hasn't played a full year since 2018. The Giants have been leaning on WR Richie James as their no.2 wide receiver, and now they'll be looking for someone to take over for Shepard. Kadarius Toney should be coming back from his hamstring injury, and he'll have an opportunity to earn that spot.

Giants | Giants WRs talk new offense    Tue Jun 28, 11:04 PM

New York Giants WRs Kadarius Toney and Sterling Shepard recently spoke about the new offense being installed by head coach Brian Daboll. 'Moving parts all day long,' Shepard said. 'It kind of gets overwhelming whenever you look at the motion list, too. They have it broken down on our [tablets], so when you look at the motion list, it's so many different motions that you can do. It'll be good getting a lot of our playmakers moving around. It's going to be tough on defenses.' Toney added, 'you're able to just win. You don't have to run the pen-and-paper version of your route every time. 'It's not set in stone, like, no matter which way the cornerback is playing you have to run that route.'

Footballguys view: This offense should be night-and-day when compared to what these players had to deal with under former head coach Joe Judge. Daboll knows how to build a high-powered offense, and he tasks his players with things they do best. The entire Giants offense should look much better this season, but the whole thing hinges on the play of QB Daniel Jones. He flashed a bit as a rookie a few years ago, but the last two years have been terrible for the young passer. If he plays up to his potential in this offense, Toney, Shepard, RB Saquon Barkley and others will have better seasons statistically.

Giants | Sterling Shepard may be back in August    Mon Mar 28, 06:00 PM

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (Achilles) has a chance to be return to the field at some point in August, according to general manager Joe Schoen.

Footballguys view: Shepard tore his Achilles' in Week 15 and has been on the road to recovery ever since. The Giants offense should be much more explosive with new head coach Brian Daboll. That's good news for Shepard if he's ready, but expect him to be limited in training camp and the preseason.

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard (Achilles') has been asked to take a significant pay cut. Shepard, who may miss part of the 2022 season with a torn Achilles', was set to make $8.475 million.

Footballguys view: The Giants are releasing players (Kyle Rudolph, Devontae Booker) or putting them up on the trade block (Saquon Barkley) as they revamp their roster. It's unclear how much of a cut Shepard was asked to take, but it's believed he was asked to go close to the league minimum for his service time at $1.035 million.

Giants | Sterling Shepard could be cap casualty    Sun Feb 20, 03:02 PM

New York Giants WR Sterling Shepard is a candidate to be released this offseason because the team can save $4.5 million in salary cap space if he is let go.

Footballguys view: Shepard suffered an Achilles injury in Week 15 against the Cowboys, and this injury could impact his availability for Week 1 of the 2022 season. The Giants are currently $12 million over the cap, so they'll need to do what they can to free up space. That could include letting Shepard go. Stay tuned.
