Seahawks | Paul Richardson released    Sat Sep 5, 02:23 PM

Seattle Seahawks WR Paul Richardson was released by the team Saturday, Sept. 5.

Footballguys view: Well, that didn't last long. Richardson had just signed with the Seahawks about a week ago. The veteran speedster could end up back with them at some point during the regular season.

Seahawks | Paul Richardson re-signs with Seattle    Sat Aug 29, 03:15 PM

Free agent WR Paul Richardson (Washington Football Team) signed an undisclosed contract Saturday, Aug. 29, to return to the Seattle Seahawks.

Footballguys view: Richardson is back with the team that brought him into the league as a second-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft. He can fly down the field but injuries have robbed him of the production many thought he could have coming out of the University of Colorado. With speedy veteran Phillip Dorsett battling a constant foot issue, Richardson has a chance to win the no.3 job for the Seahawks behind Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf.

Seahawks | Paul Richardson at facility    Wed Aug 26, 04:01 PM

Free-agent WR Paul Richardson (Washington Football Team) is at the Seattle Seahawks' facility Wednesday, Aug. 26, undergoing testing for COVID-19, according to sources.

Footballguys view: Richardson was a second-round pick for Seattle in the 2014 NFL draft and he played four seasons up in the Northwest. Injuries have held him back as a pro, both with Seattle and Washington, but Richardson can flat out fly when healthy. We'll see if Seattle brings back the veteran speedster.

Redskins | Paul Richardson officially cut    Fri Feb 14, 03:12 PM

Updating a previous report, Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson was officially released Friday, Feb. 14.

Footballguys view: Richardson has a ton of speed but he just can't stay healthy. Even dating back to his days in college at the University of Colorado, there's always something holding him back. Some team will sign him for veteran depth, likely for an inexpensive pricetag.

Redskins | Paul Richardson to be waived    Fri Feb 14, 12:25 PM

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson will be waived, according to a source Friday, Feb. 14. The team will create $2.5 million in salary cap savings with $6 million in dead money by releasing Richardson.

Footballguys view: Richardson is a fast wide receiver but he just can't stay healthy. Even dating back to his days in college at the University of Colorado, Richardson is a fine player when healthy but rarely stays healthy. On the open market, more than a few teams should be interested.

Redskins | Paul Richardson's time up in Washington?    Sat Feb 8, 09:20 PM

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson is 'likely' to be cut in favor of a proven veteran, according to a source familiar with head coach Ron Rivera's plans.

Footballguys view: Richardson has talent...and plenty of speed...but he's only been able to play a full 16-game season once in his six years in the NFL. He's been with Washington for two seasons and has only played 17 games combined. Richardson is under contract through the 2022 season. He has a cap hit of $8.3 million in 2020 and there is $6 million remaining in dead money.

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson (hamstring) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Saturday, Dec. 14. OT Timon Parris was signed to the active roster from the practice squad.

He's under contract with Washington through the 2022 season. In 2020, Richardson has a cap hit of $8.5 million with $6 million remaining in dead money.

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson caught three passes for 14 yards against the New York Giants in Week 4. He was targeted five times during the game.

Footballguys view: There was some excitement about Richardson after his nice Week 3 and the news that Terry McLaurin was a scratch today, but Washington's offense doesn't appear to be capable of sustaining value for anyone outside of McLaurin and maybe Chris Thompson in PPR leagues.

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 6, and is not on the injury report for Week 1.

Footballguys view: Richardson is good to go for the season opener. Too bad his quarterback, Case Keenum, isn't known for stretching the field. Richardson has speed and big-play ability when healthy but we see him as a WR5 against the Eagles.

Redskins | Paul Richardson takes part in practice    Wed Sep 4, 05:15 PM

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Footballguys view: Richardson is always a little banged up with something but he's good to go for the season opener against the Eagles. With Case Keenum at quarterback, we don't see Washington stretching the field that much with a deep threat like Richardson. He's a deep 'what the heck' flex in Week 1.

Redskins | Paul Richardson on the field    Fri Jul 26, 11:39 PM

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson (shoulder) participated in practice Friday, July 26.

Footballguys view: Richardson needs to stay healthy and impress in what is a make-or-break year for the young receiver. He's talented and flashed with both Washington and Seattle in the pros, but Richardson is oft-injured dating back to his days in college at the University of Colorado. Last season was his first year with Washington and Richardson was only able to make it through seven games.

Redskins | Paul Richardson could be deep threat    Mon Jul 8, 10:05 PM

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson (knee, shoulder) could be a deep threat for the team if he is able to stay healthy this season. He did not participate in team drills during offseason workouts.

Footballguys view: This always seems to be the case with Richardson. He's dealt with the injury bug dating all the way back to his college days at the University of Colorado. Richardson has speed to burn and tracks passes with ease over his shoulder. Talent has never been an issue, but seemingly constant knee problems have plagued his football career. He only made it through seven games in 2018, his first season with Washington.

Redskins | Paul Richardson making strides    Fri Jun 28, 10:56 PM

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson (shoulder) 'should be ready to go' for training camp after being limited during minicamp, according to JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington.

Footballguys view: Richardson has never been able to stay healthy for long, keeping him from using his speed and deep ball skills to change games consistently. He has some deep best ball value, but otherwise is only an emergency play in redraft leagues because of his lack of durability and mediocre surrounding offense.

Redskins | Paul Richardson doing individual drills    Tue Jun 4, 07:30 PM

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson (shoulder) was in full uniform at the team's minicamp session Tuesday, June 4, but he was limited to individual workouts. The veteran wideout stood to the side during 7-on-7 drills.

Footballguys view: Richardson is a fast player with some upside but he's fought the injury bug dating back to his days in college at Colorado. He only made it through seven games last season and caught only 20 passes. Richardson will try to get out there and compete for a spot in the pecking order when healthy. He could perhaps put up WR3 numbers if healthy and starting for Washington in 2019.

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson (shoulder) said the shoulder injury that ended his 2018 season prematurely involved multiple fractures to his clavicle and required a metal plate to be inserted during surgery.

Footballguys view: Richardson is one of the most injury prone players in the league. He's talented, fast and can be a threat downfield but Richardson has been banged up quite a bit during his pro career and even dating back to his college days at Colorado.

Redskins | Season over for Paul Richardson    Mon Nov 5, 03:05 PM

Washington Redskins WR Paul Richardson (shoulder) will miss the remainder of the season with an injury to his AC joint, according to head coach Jay Gruden.

Footballguys view: Dating back to his days at the University of Colorado, Richardson has been a gifted but oft-injured player. Washington added him in free agency earlier this year but Richardson caught just 20 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns in seven games. Maurice Harris looks to have a larger role with Richardson done for the season.
