Las Vegas Raiders TE Nick O'Leary (heart) underwent two procedures last month after being diagnosed with 100 percent blockage on the right side of his heart. He is expected to make a full recovery and hopes to return to play in the 2021 season. 'I feel good,' O'Leary said. 'I feel better than I did before. I've got to be on blood thinners for six months to a year. That's really the only reason now why I can't play football. If I (got cut), they said that would be the biggest problem, wouldn't be able to stop the bleeding.'
Footballguys view: The Raiders put him on the reserve/non-football injury list and he said they told him they will "leave the door open" for him next year. O'Leary had pain in his left arm that moved to his chest while working out and playing pickleball and doctors told him it was a heart attack. Make sure to have any symptoms like the ones he had checked out, as O'Leary is 27 and obviously physically fit. If it can happen to him, it can happen to any of us. |

Las Vegas Raiders TE Nick O'Leary (undisclosed) was placed on the Non-Football Injury list Thursday, May 28.
Footballguys view: This means O'Leary is done for the season, likely due to an injury he suffered working out on his own. O'Leary signed with the team just a couple of months ago for veteran depth. The Raiders move forward with Darren Waller, Jason Witten and Foster Moreau in the tight end room. |

Miami Dolphins TE Nick O'Leary is the team's best pass-catching option at the position, according to Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald.

Buffalo Bills QB Tyrod Taylor completed 19-of-27 pass attempts for 204 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 17 against the Miami Dolphins while running for 35 yards on six attempts. RB Marcus Murphy led the way with seven runs for 41 yards while RB LeSean McCoy (ankle) was limited to 10 yards on 11 rushes before checking out with an injury. TE Charles Clay shined with six grabs for 64 yards on a team-high eight targets, WR Kelvin Benjamin led the wideouts with two grabs for 27 yards and TE Nick O'Leary finished with a 26-yard touchdown on his only grab.
Footballguys view: McCoy's ankle is now a very important wild card week storyline with the Bills somehow getting into the playoffs to face the Jaguars and their old coach Doug Marrone. The offense could fall on Taylor's shoulders against the toughest pass defense in the league. |

Buffalo Bills TE Nick O'Leary is expected to see more snaps as the team is expected to use more two-tight end sets in 2017 under offensive coordinator Rick Dennison. When Dennison was the Houston Texans' offensive coordinator from 2010-2013, only the New England Patriots ran more snaps with two tight ends.
Footballguys view: The team is concerned with the knee condition of starting TE Charles Clay, so perhaps using more of O'Leary as a receiver could help. O'Leary was active for 16 games last year but only snared nine passes for 114 yards. Even with more snaps this year (358 in 2016), we don't see O'Leary as a fantasy factor in 2017. |

Buffalo Bills TE Nick O'Leary is expected to have a bigger role on offense against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16 since TE Charles Clay (back) has been ruled out, according to head coach Rex Ryan.
Footballguys view: The grandson of legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, O'Leary was a sixth-round pick by the Bills in the 2015 NFL draft. He's a reliable hands-catcher who has the versatility to line up in multiple spots. O'Leary is known as a hard-worker who can get open against zone coverage. He's not going to threaten a defense vertically, and O'Leary isn't much of a fantasy option even with a larger role. |

Buffalo Bills TE Charles Clay, who signed a five-year, $38 million deal in the offseason, has been mostly invisible so far at training camp, according to sources. The tight end group led by TEs Clay, Chris Gragg, Nick O'Leary and Matthew Mulligan haven't been blocking very well, either, leading head coach Rex Ryan to try DT Kyle D. Williams as a tight end for better blocking.
Footballguys view: Clay could be a good fantasy tight end with his skillset and talent, but that's not going to happen in this Buffalo offense this season. If you're looking for a talented tight end with a new team, try the guy who replaced Clay in Miami--Jordan Cameron. |
