The Oakland Raiders agreed to terms with free-agent FS Reggie Nelson (Raiders) on a one-year deal Saturday, March 24, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Nelson struggled last year for the Raiders, but he may be in for a bounce-back season. The main reason; Raiders new defensive coordinator Paul Guenther who Nelson worked under during his time in Cincinnati. |

Oakland Raiders impending free-agent FS Reggie Nelson is not expected to be back with the Raiders next season.
Footballguys view: Nelson has had an up-and-down stint with the Raiders. In 2016, Nelson was a Pro Bowl player and in 2017 he was one of the worst players in coverage at the position in the entire league. New defensive coordinator Paul Guenther was able to get quality play out of Nelson when the two worked together with the Bengals. However, it seems like even with a recommendation from Guenther we won't see Nelson in a Raiders jersey in 2018. |

Cincinnati Bengals impending free-agent FS Reggie Nelson is expected to be one of the players the team tries to re-sign this offseason.
Footballguys view: Nelson can make plays against the run, and he's not afraid to mix it up close to the line of scrimmage. We feel confident the Bengals will keep him around in 2016 and beyond. |

Cincinnati Bengals impending free-agent CB Adam Jones and FS Reggie Nelson could receive interest from the Miami Dolphins this offseason since defensive coordinator Vance Joseph worked with them when he was part of the Bengals.
Footballguys view: We're expecting the Dolphins to be much improved on both sides of the ball. However, they're going to have to get creative with salaries if they want to even be a little bit active in free agency. As of right now (according to OverTheCap.com), the Dolphins only have $2.6 million in cap space. That number will change with player cuts and potential contract restructures. |
