New Orleans Saints RBs Michael Burton, Latavius Murray and Dwayne Washington were activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, Jan. 6.
Footballguys view: The Saints will have a more normal looking backfield this week after missing most of the backs on their roster in Week 17. Alvin Kamara has to stay quarantined through Saturday but Saints head coach Sean Payton has already stated that he doesn't have to practice to play. Murray would get a large workload if Kamara is unavailable. |

New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray rushed for 17 yards on five carries against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 13.
Footballguys view: Murray was heating up in recent weeks, but his momentum came to a screeching halt against the Falcons. The Eagles are no pushover against the run and they are up next week, so Murray's value has reverted to Alvin Kamara injury upside. |

Footballguys view: Murray's two scores made him a strong play this week, and it looks like double digit touches may become the norm for him this year, making him a safer flex play. Next week, he'll face a Chargers defense that gave up five touchdowns today. |

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees went 26-for-33 for 208 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Minnesota Vikings in the Wild Card playoff game. QB Taysom Hill completed a 50-yard pass, rushed for 50 yards on four carries and caught two passes for 25 yards and one touchdown during the game. RB Alvin Kamara rushed for 21 yards and one touchdown on seven carries and caught eight passes for 34 yards. RB Latavius Murray rushed for 21 yards on five carries. WR Michael Thomas caught seven passes for 70 yards on eight targets. TE Jared Cook caught five passes for 54 yards on five targets, while WR Ted Ginn Jr. caught one pass for 18 yards on two targets.
Footballguys view: The Saints just couldn't stop the Vikings offense down the stretch. There was a potential non-call on Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph when he pushed off to score a touchdown in overtime, but so many other opportunities slipped through the Saints fingers on Sunday. It's another disappointing end for the Saints in the postseason. The Saints are now the first team in NFL history to have six straight playoff eliminations by one score and the second team since the Packers from 2013-15 to be eliminated in three straight postseasons on the final play of the game. |

New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees wrapped up the regular season with 19-of-30 passing for 253 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Week 17 against the Carolina Panthers. RB Latavius Murray led the team with 61 rushing yards on 17 attempts, while RB Alvin Kamara posted eight runs for 39 yards and two touchdowns while hauling in two grabs for 18 yards. WR Tre'Quan Smith led the way with five grabs for 56 yards and a score, and QB Taysom Hill had a 45-yard touchdown on his only grab while running for four yards. WR Michael Thomas was held to just 37 yards on four grabs across nine targets. TE Jared Cook also contributed two catches for 44 yards and a TD. LB A.J. Klein also added a 14-yard interception for touchdown.
Footballguys view: Brees had an easy day in the tune up for a possible game next week against Minnesota if the 49ers beat the Seahawks and a bye and #2 seed if the Seahawks win at home. He may retire after this season, but appears to be in better form than fellow aging quarterbacks Philip Rivers, Tom Brady, and Aaron Rodgers. |

New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray carried the ball four times for two yards on Thursday, Nov. 28.
Footballguys view: Murray was barely used as the Saints didn't hold the ball for long stretches of this game and didn't establish the run. He's going to be on fantasy benches for next week's game against San Francisco, but could still be a league winner if Alvin Kamara goes down. |

New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray rushed for 12 yards on five carries against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10. He also caught two passes for seven yards during the game.
Footballguys view: The Saints never gave Murray a chance to get on track. He faces a tough Bucs run defense next week so he probably won't be a good play, but he is still worth a bench spot to see if the Saints offense gets on track for the stretch run. |
Latavius Murray player page

New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray will continue to have a big role in the offense against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10 despite the return of RB Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee), according to head coach Sean Payton. 'Week 1 of Alvin coming back,' Payton said. 'We'll be smart.'
Footballguys view: Murray worked well in Kamara's absence. The Saints should use Murray the way they used Mark Ingram in tandem with Kamara for a couple of seasons. That makes Murray a RB3 or flex option with upside for Fantasy GMs on a weekly basis. |

New Orleans Saints RB Latavius Murray rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown on 21 carries against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8. He also caught nine passes for 55 yards and one touchdown during the game.
Footballguys view: Murray has been in beast mode while Alvin Kamara has been out, including a huge passing game role. Kamara should be back after the bye next week, but Murray deserves enough work each week to be a flex consideration going forward. |
