San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) was ruled out for Week 10 by head coach Kyle Shanahan Wednesday, Nov. 11.

49ers | Raheem Mostert officially hits IR    Sat Oct 24, 04:41 PM

S Johnathan Cyprien and S Jared Mayden were activated from the team's practice squad. WR Jauan Jennings (undisclosed) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list.

Footballguys view: We've all been waiting for this move to be made official since Mostert suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Rams last week. JaMycal Hasty and Jerick McKinnon are set to split backfield duties while Mostert misses time. Jeffery Wilson is questionable in Week 7 with a calf injury.

  49ers | San Francisco's injury report for Week 7    Fri Oct 23, 04:45 PM

San Francisco 49ers LB Kwon Alexander (ankle), RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) and S Jaquiski Tartt (groin) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 7 against the New England Patriots. DB Jimmie Ward (quad) was added to the injury report after not practicing Friday, Oct. 23, and has also been ruled out. OT Trent Williams (ankle) and Jeff Wilson Jr. (calf) were limited in practice Friday and are listed as questionable. CB Dontae Johnson (groin) practiced in full for a second straight day and has been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: The 49ers will be without their starting safeties and one of their starting linebackers, and they already lost Nick Bosa, but the Patriots passing game isn't in a position to take advantage. Whether or not Wilson plays is a key to Jerick McKinnon and Jamycal Hasty's value this week.

49ers | Raheem Mostert likely going on IR    Mon Oct 19, 06:44 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (ankle) suffered a high ankle sprain during the Week 6 game and likely will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Footballguys view: Mostert has a high ankle sprain and those take quite a bit of time to heal properly. If he's on the IR list then Mostert will have to miss three weeks before he's eligible to return. The 49ers could turn to Jeff Wilson and JaMycal Hasty while Mostert is out. They also have Jerick McKinnon to serve as a big-play back in their 'hot hand' RBBC.

CB K'Waun Williams (hip) was limited in practice for a second straight day Friday and is listed as questionable. TE George Kittle (knee) and RB Jerick McKinnon (ribs) practiced in full all week and have been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: Deebo Samuel will return this week. That hurts Brandon Aiyuk's outlook but helps Nick Mullens. Samuel is risky in his first game back from foot surgery, but should be a WR3/Flex once he's established and can help teams that need to replace a Steelers or Titans receiver.

Footballguys view: Kittle, Garoppolo, and Mostert could all return next week against the Eagles.   49ers | San Francisco's injury report for Week 3    Fri Sep 25, 02:34 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Tevin Coleman (knee), DL Dee Ford (back), QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), LB Dre Greenlaw (quad) and RB Raheem Mostert (knee) did not practice Friday, Sept. 25, and have been ruled out for Week 3 against the New York Giants. TE George Kittle (knee) was limited in practice all week and has also been ruled out. CB Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday and is listed as questionable. CB Jason Verrett (hamstring) practiced in full all week and has been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: Ford is needed now more than ever with Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas out for the year but there is no timetable for his return. Greenlaw is an up and coming player at linebacker to deal the defense another blow. At least they are getting back the oft-injured Jason Verrett to help replace Richard Sherman.

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (knee) won't play Sunday, Sept. 27, in Week 3, head coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday in a radio interview.

Footballguys view: Mostert probably has a multi-week injury but the 49ers haven't placed him on injured reserve, so he should be back soon. Jerick McKinnon and Jeff Wilson will split the work with and Tevin Coleman - who is on injured reserve and will be out for longer - out this week.

49ers | Raheem Mostert unlikely to go in Week 3    Mon Sep 21, 03:53 PM

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (knee) suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in Week 2 and is unlikely to play in Week 3 against the New York Giants, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.

Footballguys view: Fantasy GMs are scrambling this week due to all these injuries around the NFL. Mostert is a big-play specialist for the 49ers offense, and they'll know turn to Jerick McKinnon to take his place. Jeffrey Wilson is also there to work in their backfield with Tevin Coleman (knee) also banged up.

Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert (knee) is believed to have suffered a mild medial collateral ligament sprain during the Week 2 game. He is scheduled to undergo an MRI, which will determine how long he will be sidelined.

  49ers | Raheem Mostert's deal gets reworked    Mon Jul 27, 02:49 PM

Updating an ongoing story, San Francisco 49ers Raheem Mostert will receive extra incentives and a bonus in his reworked contract, per a source. No new years were added to his deal, and Mostert is under contract for two more seasons. He is due $2.575 million in base salary and can earn an additional $2.75 million via incentives and a $300,000 bonus.

Footballguys view: Mostert wanted a raise, not a huge one, but just a bump in pay and the 49ers have obliged. Now, we'll see how Mostert works in the 49ers backfield with Tevin Coleman being his biggest competitor for touches and playing time. Jerick McKinnon is now healthy and is going to get a chance to see what he can do as well. Mostert is the first 49ers back going off the board with a current ADP of RB29 (5.11) in 12-team PPR leagues.

49ers | Raheem Mostert ridiculously efficient    Thu Jul 23, 09:09 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert has averaged 6.04 yards per carry over the last two seasons - the highest mark for any player with at least 125 carries over that time.

Footballguys view: This has to be Exhibit A in Mostert's case to get paid as much as Tevin Coleman this year. It's still a good idea to buy on the dip in Mostert's value in redraft leagues.

49ers | Raheem Mostert talks with team    Mon Jul 20, 04:04 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert recently talked with a high-ranking member of the 49ers to clear the air and get on the same page moving forward, according to sources. Mostert asked for a trade earlier in the month, but it is not known if he is still seeking a trade.

Footballguys view: Anything positive in this situation should push Mostert's ADP back up. The fantasy football hive mind has overreacted to the specter of a holdout and created a buy low window in dynasty and redraft alike. Expect Mostert to get some sort of raise and his ADP to return to, if not surpass its previous level.

49ers | Raheem Mostert looking for pay raise    Thu Jul 9, 02:56 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert is looking to be paid similarly to what the highest-paid running backs on the roster are scheduled to make, according to Mostert's agent. RB Tevin Coleman is scheduled to make $4.55 million next season, which is what Mostert would like to make.

Footballguys view: Two million dollars of Coleman's salary became guaranteed earlier in the offseason, but if the team released him, the $2.55 million freed up would be more than enough to satisfy Mostert. The team could also release CJ Beathard to create additional cap room. It's possible that they wait to see if Jerick McKinnon can stay healthy in camp to force Mostert's hand.

49ers | Raheem Mostert seeking trade    Wed Jul 8, 05:16 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert has requested a trade, according to his agent.

Footballguys view: Mostert is projected as the top back for the 49ers entering training camp. He's on the books for two more years and is set to make around $3 million in each season. He wants a bump in pay as his last deal was negotiated when he was a core special teams player. Mostert is much more than that now and was incredibly productive for the 49ers last year as they made a Super Bowl run. We'll see if a new contract can be worked out.

49ers | Extension coming for Raheem Mostert?    Thu Jul 2, 02:21 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert has had contract extension talks with the 49ers this offseason, but it is not known how much progress they have made during the talks, according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows.

Footballguys view: Mostert was easily the best back in the 49ers backfield, but his ADP suggests that fantasy players still expect Tevin Coleman to play a large role in the backfield this year. If he gets an extension before the season, his ADP should rise, so it's a good time to get trade offers out there if you believe in him.

49ers | Raheem Mostert extension looming?    Fri Jun 5, 02:52 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert soon could receive a contract extension this offseason, in the opinion of one team beat reporter.

Footballguys view: Mostert was the best 49ers running back last year and Tevin Coleman only has one year left on his contract, so a modest extension for Mostert makes sense. The 49ers will likely continue their RBBC plan in the regular season, but Mostert is the most valuable member and could outproduce his mid-round fantasy draft stock.

  49ers | Raheem Mostert eyeing 200-plus carries    Wed May 20, 08:12 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert has added some muscle to his frame - he played last season around 205 pounds - in anticipation that he will handle at least 200 carries in 2020.

Footballguys view: Mostert finished the season strong for the 49ers and he was good in the postseason. He will compete for playing time with Tevin Coleman and 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is known for using multiple backs which limits everyone's fantasy value in this backfield. We'll see how this shakes out during training camp but things could also change with Shanahan's usage of running backs during the regular season.

'That's something I want to be, man. I want to be able to have a gold jacket, and the only way to do that is to be great,' Mostert said. San Francisco 49ers RBs Raheem Mostert (3.5) and Matt Breida (3.3) ranked first and second, respectively, in the league among running backs in average yards before contact per attempt last season.

49ers | San Francisco denied title    Sun Feb 2, 10:08 PM

San Francisco 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 20 of his 31 passes for 219 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions in a 31-20 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV Sunday, Feb. 2. RB Raheem Mostert rushed 12 times for 58 yards and a touchdown and caught one pass for two yards, and RB Tevin Coleman rushed five times for 28 yards and caught one pass for three yards. WR Deebo Samuel caught five passes for 39 yards and rushed three times for 53 yards, WR Emmanuel Sanders caught three of his five targets for 38 yards, and TE George Kittle hauled in four passes for 36 yards. FB Kyle Juszczyk caught three passes for 39 yards and a touchdown. SS Jimmie Ward notched a game-high 11 tackles, DE Nick Bosa recorded a sack, and DL DeForest Buckner logged 1.5 sacks.

Footballguys view: The offense had a terrific first three quarters and was rarely held off of the board by the Chiefs until the fourth quarter, when Garoppolo misfired repeatedly and the team squandered a 10-point lead. Mostert was again one of the best parts of the offense, and Samuel was explosive and tough to break down on his short touches. Garoppolo will regret not looking for Kittle more, especially in the fourth quarter. The 49ers should be considered the favorite in the NFC next season despite finishing on a down note.

49ers | Raheem Mostert excelled after contact    Thu Jan 23, 02:39 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Raheem Mostert gained 158 of his 220 rushing yards after contact in the NFC Championship Game win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Jan. 19.

Footballguys view: Mostert had a monster game against the Packers. He could do more in the Super Bowl too depending on the health status of Tevin Coleman (shoulder). It was the most yards after contact by a running back in the postseason since 2006.
