Bengals | Sam Montgomery cited for speeding Thu Jun 26, 01:07 AM
Cincinnati Bengals DE Sam Montgomery was cited in the morning hours of Wednesday, June 25, and ticketed for speeding after being pulled over for allegedly driving 89 mph in a 55 mph zone. He was fined $355 and released on his own recognizance. Montgomery, playing for his third team in 14 months, was released by the Houston Texans last season for allegedly smoking marijuana in his hotel room.

Free-agent RB Cierre Wood (Texans) has notified all teams he passed a drug test taken shortly after he was cut by the Houston Texans, a source said Wednesday, Oct. 30. Per the source, Wood coordinated the test with the NFL Players Association and took it last Monday, Oct. 21, the same day he, LB Willie Jefferson and DE Sam Montgomery were cut by the team for a violation of team rules.

The Cincinnati Bengals have offered free-agent DE Sam Montgomery (Texans) a spot on their practice squad, according to a source. He also has visited the Oakland Raiders this week. Montgomery recently took a drug test that indicated he did not have any marijuana in his system. He was released by the Houston Texans Oct. 21 for a violation of team rules, and there were reports from ESPN that it was due to marijuana use.

Updating a previous report, the Houston Texans released RB Cierre Wood, LB Sam Montgomery and LB Willie Jefferson because they violated unspecified team rules at their Kansas City hotel Saturday, Oct. 19. Head coach Gary Kubiak would not comment of the release of the three players.
