Miami Dolphins RBs Chase Edmonds, Myles Gaskin, Raheem Mostert, Salvon Ahmed and Sony Michel will be involved in a 'creative competition,' according to assistant head coach/running backs coach Eric Studesville. 'You create a competitive environment and you let those guys go sort it out because that's how it's going to happen,' Studesville said. 'They're going to sort it out as to who contributes and where and how and how much.'
| Footballguys view: Um...yeah, that's one way to put it. There is no question that the Dolphins are stacked to the brim with running back talent. New head coach Mike McDaniel loves to run the ball, and he should be able to do that early and often - no matter who is toting the rock. Edmonds and Mostert would seem to be the top two backs on the depth chart, but Michel is no slappy and could push for playing time too. We'll have to watch this rotation shake out in training camp. |

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Sony Michel (Rams) agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Miami Dolphins Monday, May 9, worth $2.1 million, according to a source.
| Footballguys view: The Dolphins will run the heck out of the ball under new head coach Mike McDaniel, and Michel will be a part of that. They got him for a good price and given the talent in that backfieild (Chase Edmonds, Raheem Mostert) they won't need Michel to carry a large load. It has the possibility of being quite frustrating for Fantasy GMs, but the Dolphins should have a strong rushing attack in 2022. |

RB Cam Akers led the team with 48 yards on 13 carries, followed by RB Sony Michel, who had 10 rushing attempts for 16 yards. WR Cooper Kupp logged 11 receptions, 142 yards and 2 TDs. WR Odell Beckham posted 113 yards on nine receptions. WR Van Jefferson had just two catches for nine yards while dealing with a knee injury. TE Kendall Blanton had five grabs for 57 yards in relief of injured TE Tyler Higbee (knee). DB Eric Weddle led the team with nine tackles.
| Footballguys view: The Rams have certainly surrendered future picks to make a run now. They don't have a first-round pick until the 2024 NFL draft, but if they win a Super Bowl this year against the Bengals we're sure they don't mind that. |

Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford completed 13-of-17 passes for 202 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in the NFC wild-card game win over the Arizona Cardinals Monday, Jan. 17, and he also ran six times for 22 yards and a score. RB Sony Michel rushed 13 times for a team-high 58 yards, while RB Cam Akers rushed 17 times for 55 yards. WR Cooper Kupp added five grabs for 61 yards and a score, while WR Odell Beckham Jr. had four receptions or 54 yards and a touchdown while also completing a 40-yard pass to Akers. TE Tyler Higbee ended up with three catches for 46 yards, and WR Van Jefferson rounded things out with a 41-yard catch on his only reception. CB David Long also got into the scoring act with a 3-yard interception return for touchdown in the second quarter.

| Footballguys view: Fantasy GMs hate the "hot hand" approach, but that's what you're dealing with here with the Rams backfield. Henderson can get work as a runner and receiver out of the backfield. Michel can get more of the goal-line work. With the "feel of the game" unknown at this time, Fantasy GMs should consider Henderson and Michel flex plays in Week 16. |
