Miami Dolphins WRs Chester Rogers and Ricardo Louis were released Tuesday, Sept. 1.

Free-agent WR Ricardo Louis (Dolphins) agreed to terms with the Miami Dolphins Saturday, Aug. 8, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: The Dolphins had two receivers (Allen Hurns, Albert Wilson) opt out for the 2020 season. Adding Louis for veteran depth makes sense. Louis was signed to a one-year deal (as an ERFA) earlier this year but was cut back in July. A neck injury (2018) and knee injury (2019) has kept Louis off the field for the last two regular seasons. Once thought of as a long-shot for the 53-man roster, his chances are better now. |

Free-agent WRs Ricardo Louis (Dolphins) and Chester Rogers (Colts) have been contacted and put through physicals by the Miami Dolphins, according to a source Thursday, Aug. 6.
Footballguys view: No surprise here. The Dolphins have had two receivers opt out (Albert Wilson, Allen Hurns) so their WR corps is getting a bit thin. Add in the fact that Preston Williams is still on the road to recovery from the knee injury he suffered mid-season in 2019, and you can see how the Dolphins would be in the market for more wide receivers. We'll see if any of these guys get signed. |

Miami Dolphins WR Ricardo Louis signed a new one-year contract with the Dolphins Tuesday, Feb. 4, according to a source. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Louis hasn't seen the field since 2017. He missed 2019 with a knee injury and his missed 2018 with a neck problem. Louis was a fourth-round pick for the Cleveland Browns when he came out of Auburn in 2016. He's caught 45 passes for 562 yards and zero touchdowns in his pro career. |

Miami Dolphins WR Ricardo Louis (knee) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list with a knee injury, according to a league source. It was initially reported that Louis was dealing with a neck injury.
Footballguys view: Louis missed the 2018 season with a neck injury. Now, he's lost for the year due to a knee injury suffered this offseason. Louis is going to have a difficult time continuing his pro career that had some minor flashes early on when he was with the Browns. He's set to be an RFA for the Dolphins following this season. |

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis (neck) will miss the entire 2018 season.
Footballguys view: A fourth-round pick out of Auburn in the 2016 NFL draft, Louis injured his neck late last year but still managed to catch 27 passes on the year. With Louis out for the year and Josh Gordon taking some time to address his mental health, the Browns may consider making a move for a veteran wide receiver. Dez Bryant has been a consideration for the team according to their General Manager John Dorsey. |

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis caught five passes for 71 yards against the New York Jets in Week 5.
Footballguys view: Louis was Kevin Hogan's favorite target and could have end of the bench desperation play value going forward. |

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis 'figures to move in the pecking order' following the Week 2 injury to Corey Coleman, according to ESPN's Pat McManamon, who adds he expects Rashard Higgins to remain the team's slot receiver.
Footballguys view: Like Higgins, Louis was picked in the 2016 NFL draft by the Browns. While Higgins was a fifth-round pick for the Browns, they actually selected Louis in the fourth round. Coming out of Auburn, Louis had a nice size/speed combination at 6'2" 215 pounds. He can make plays after the catch and is developing as a route runner. |

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis has 'really helped himself' and 'is a talented young man,' according to senior offensive assistant Al Saunders.
Footballguys view: The Browns wide receiver group is unsettled after Kenny Britt and Corey Coleman, so an opportunity is there for Louis and other youngsters like Jordan Payton and Rashard Higgins. This isn't a pass offense that can support three fantasy relevant wideouts, but Louis's top-end measureables and possible separation from his fellow 2016 third-day picks merits attention in deep dynasty leagues. |

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis appears to be one of the leading candidates for the No. 3 receiver job this season because of his versatility and run after the catch ability, in the opinion of The Cleveland Plain Dealer's Dan Labbe.
Footballguys view: There has recently been a flood of positive stories about Louis coming out of Browns camp. His main competition for the no3 spot could be Rashard Higgins or Jordan Payton. The Browns QB situation is a hot mess, but they'll be supported by a strong offensive line and a solid rushing attack. Louis likely has little fantasy value in redraft leagues even if he's the no3 WR for the Browns, but dynasty owners should be monitoring his progress through training camp. |

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis expects to spend some of his down time this summer working out with New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall. He also hopes to pick the brains of Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown and retired receiver Andre Johnson - each of whom is a Miami native like he is.

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis is more confident and comfortable in the offense this year, according to ESPN.com's Pat McManamon, and McManamon believes Cleveland's lack of depth at the receiver position could lead to Louis playing an important role.
Footballguys view: It's a steady and interesting drumbeat that has been there this offseason. Louis is someone that beat writers are pegging as an improved player. A fourth-round pick in 2016, Louis had a 5-for-65 stat line against the Titans in Week 6 last year and then it was all downhill for him as he barely saw the field. |

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis might start opposite WR Andrew Hawkins in Week 7 against the Cincinnati Bengals if WR Terrelle Pryor (hamstring) is unable to go.
Footballguys view: Louis is a good route-runner, but he's not the athlete that Pryor is. If Pryor doesn't play, then we can't recommend any target in the Browns passing game. |

Cleveland Browns WR Ricardo Louis (hamstring) pulled up in practice Sunday, Aug. 14, with a hamstring injury. He is the third Browns receiver to suffer such an injury this offseason, joining WRs Corey Coleman and Andrew Hawkins.
Footballguys view: Louis is the best physical specimen of the trio of rookie wideouts taken on the third day. He's still at best competing for the #5 job once Josh Gordon is back. |
