49ers | San Francisco puts up fight in finale    Sun Jan 3, 07:52 PM

San Francisco 49ers QB C.J. Beathard completed 25-of-37 passes for 273 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks while rushing for 10 yards. RB Jeff Wilson Jr. rushed 20 times for 76 yards and a score, while adding three receptions for 12 yards and a touchdown. WR Kendrick Bourne had a team-high 76 yards on five grabs, while TE George Kittle was good for seven catches and 68 yards on nine targets. WR Richie James also checked in with 66 yards on three grabs, while TE Ross Dwelley was good for 21 yards on two catches and WR River Cracraft ended with two catches and 17 yards. LB Fred Warner led the way on defense with a game-high 10 total stops, a sack, a tackle for loss and two quarterback hits.

Footballguys view: The 49ers season was pockmarked by devastating injuries on both sides of the ball, but they remained a competitive team almost every week. They have a big decision to make at quarterback this offseason and will pick 12th.

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle caught four passes for 92 yards against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16. He was targeted five times during the game.

Footballguys view: Kittle looked healthy and you can't be disappointed with this output if you started him. Kyle Juszczyk caught both touchdowns or Kittle could have had a bigger day. He should play next week in the season finale vs Seattle.

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (foot) will start in Week 16's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Footballguys view: Kittle has worked hard to get back out there. Fantasy GMs have to start him in Week 16. Even if he has a limited snap count, Kittle should be out there for high-value targets. He's got TE1 upside anytime he's on the field.

49ers | George Kittle no guarantee to return this season    Wed Dec 16, 11:52 PM

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (foot) returned to practice, but he's not guaranteed to play again this season. Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday, Dec. 16, he would think differently of Kittle's situation if the 49ers are eliminated from the playoff chase. 'I would think about it a lot differently,' Shanahan said. 'I'm not saying a for sure no (he wouldn't play)...if he's risking anything, then it would be an easy decision. But if he could 100 percent come back and be normal - that's something I'll talk to him about.'

49ers | George Kittle, Jimmy Garoppolo could return?    Tue Dec 1, 02:49 PM

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (foot) and QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) have both been sidelined since Week 8, but head coach Kyle Shanahan is 'holding out hope for ... the last couple weeks.''I think they're in a similar boat, but that I mean that's not guaranteed. ... They're just starting to get into where they get on the field and not with us but on their own to do some stuff,' Shanahan said of their rehabs Tuesday, Dec. 1.

Footballguys view: The chances of both returning are slim to be sure. Kittle wants to return and Fantasy GMs headed for the fantasy playoffs would love that. He is likely to miss at least the next couple of games at least with maybe a return in Week 16. Don't hold out too much hope and stay tuned.

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (foot) was diagnosed with a small fracture in his foot and is expected to be sidelined for eight weeks, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Terrible news for the 49ers offense who is already dealing with too many injuries. Kittle's return in 2020 is up in the air and he may just miss the rest of the season. The 49ers will be looking to Jordan Reed if and when he's healthy plus Ross Dwelley can fill in for Kittle.

49ers | George Kittle limps off with ankle injury    Sun Nov 1, 06:52 PM

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (ankle) left the Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks due to an ankle injury and his return is questionable. Kittle had two grabs for 39 yards on four targets before departing.

Footballguys view: Kittle didn't affect the game until a long catch on the play when he got hurt. Ross Dwelley scored in his absence and will be a decent pickup for teams in need at tight end if Kittle isn't ready to play on Thursday against Green Bay.

San Francisco 49ers DL Dee Ford (back), QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), LB Dre Greenlaw (quad), CB Emmanuel Moseley (concussion), RB Raheem Mostert (knee) and TE Jordan Reed (knee) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles. CB Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) did not practice Friday, Oct. 2, and has also been ruled out. CB K'Waun Williams (hip) was limited in practice for a second straight day Friday and is listed as questionable. TE George Kittle (knee) and RB Jerick McKinnon (ribs) practiced in full all week and have been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: Deebo Samuel will return this week. That hurts Brandon Aiyuk's outlook but helps Nick Mullens. Samuel is risky in his first game back from foot surgery, but should be a WR3/Flex once he's established and can help teams that need to replace a Steelers or Titans receiver.

Footballguys view: Kittle, Garoppolo, and Mostert could all return next week against the Eagles.   49ers | San Francisco's injury report for Week 3    Fri Sep 25, 02:34 PM

San Francisco 49ers RB Tevin Coleman (knee), DL Dee Ford (back), QB Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle), LB Dre Greenlaw (quad) and RB Raheem Mostert (knee) did not practice Friday, Sept. 25, and have been ruled out for Week 3 against the New York Giants. TE George Kittle (knee) was limited in practice all week and has also been ruled out. CB Ahkello Witherspoon (hamstring) was limited in practice Friday and is listed as questionable. CB Jason Verrett (hamstring) practiced in full all week and has been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: Ford is needed now more than ever with Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas out for the year but there is no timetable for his return. Greenlaw is an up and coming player at linebacker to deal the defense another blow. At least they are getting back the oft-injured Jason Verrett to help replace Richard Sherman.

CB Ahkello Witherspoon (concussion), WR Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) and OL Ben Garland (ankle) practiced in full Friday and no longer appear on the injury report.

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle's (knee) status for Week 2 will come down to a game-time decision on Sunday, Sept. 20, general manager John Lynch said in a Friday radio interview.

Footballguys view: At least the 49ers are playing on the east coast. Kittle usually grits his teeth and plays through injuries but the 49ers would be smart to let Jordan Reed get his targets this week. If Kittle is out, Brandon Aiyuk and Kendrick Bourne are better flex plays against a poor Jets secondary.

49ers | George Kittle returns to practice    Wed Sep 2, 07:04 PM

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday, Sept. 2.

49ers | George Kittle expected to practice soon    Tue Sep 1, 12:48 AM

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) is expected back later in the week, head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed Monday, Aug. 31.

Footballguys view: Kittle is the superstar of their offense, so the team is going to ease him back into action. Fantasy GMs know that Kittle is a top-tier tight end who can be a set-it-and-forget-it starter each week.

49ers | George Kittle sits again    Sun Aug 30, 05:02 PM

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) did not participate in practice Sunday, Aug. 30.

Footballguys view: Kittle is a warrior, playing through a torn labrum for over a year, but we'll watch this to see if it threatens his availability or effectiveness for Week 1, with Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel also questionable at best. The 49ers passing game could be very limited against Arizona in the opener. Chances are this is just precautionary, but we want to see practice participation leading into Week 1 to confirm that.

49ers | George Kittle sits Friday    Fri Aug 28, 03:17 PM

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Aug. 28.

Footballguys view: Kittle can probably play through injuries with the best of them, but we'd prefer to see this rested leading into the season opener against Arizona. Hopefully we will see Kittle get in a full practice leading up to the game. He has already been playing with a torn labrum for over a year, so we won't ding Kittle's fantasy value on the news of this minor hamstring injury.

49ers | George Kittle lands extension    Thu Aug 13, 11:24 AM

San Francisco 49ers TE George Kittle agreed to a five-year, $75 million extension Thursday, Aug. 13, that includes an $18 million signing bonus. The contract language is still being worked out.

Footballguys view: This contract is blowing the doors off the tight end market. It's a sign of how important Kittle is to the 49ers offense. They are a run-first offense but Kittle dominates from the tight end position as their most important receiver. He's a force on the field and Fantasy GMs can use him as a set-it-and-forget-it TE1 once again in 2020.

Footballguys view: The two sides continue to work on a new contract for Kittle. Not only will Kittle likely be the highest-paid tight end in the league, he could approach wide receiver money with his new contract. We'll see if they can get something done before the start of the regular season.
