Seahawks | Redding at left end?    Sun Aug 2, 08:19 PM

Clare Farnsworth, of Seahawks.com, reports that Seattle DL Cory Redding would play left end if the season began today, according to head coach Jim Mora. Farnsworth likes the move because Redding is better equipped to handle TE/OT double team blocks that often come on the left side, and removes Kerney, who has had three shoulder surgeries in three years, from that situation.

Footballguys view: Lots of fantasy impact if this comes true. First of all, it hurts Darryl Tapp as a sleeper, because he wouldn't get many snaps on run downs. It also makes Redding a sneaky play in DT required leagues, because he'll be getting most of his snaps at DE, although one would think that he would move inside on passing downs.

The surgery was characterized as a cleanup surgery, according to team sources. Kerney is expected to be ready for the start of training camp.
