The Houston Texans placed CB Johnathan Joseph (toe) and RB Deji Karim (shoulder) on the season-ending Injured Reserve list Tuesday, Dec. 24. The team also signed free-agent RB Ray Graham (Steelers) to the active roster.
Footballguys view: Graham was with the team earlier this year before getting cut and landing in Pittsburgh. He'll serve as a backup runner behind Week 17 starter Jonathan Grimes. We like Graham's dynasty stock more than that of Grimes in deeper leagues. |

Houston Texans RB Deji Karim (clavicle) will miss the rest of the season because of a broken clavicle.

Houston Texans RB Ben Tate (ribs) was put on the Injured Reserve Wednesday, Dec. 18, after suffering his fifth cracked rib. However, Tate tweeted that he doesn't have a cracked rib but instead re-injured his other ribs that hadn't healed. RB Dennis Johnson will start in Tate's place with RB Deji Karim serving as his backup.
Footballguys view: This explains the sudden move to Injured Reserve. Dennis Johnson definitely gets the start but remains a RB3, no more. His reps could be limited if Denver gets too far out in front. |

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back, hamstring) is reportedly dealing with a disc problem in his back. He'll receive treatment from a specialist in hopes of avoiding season-ending surgery.
Footballguys view: Ben Tate's value just took a leap, and Dennis Johnson should be owned in all deep leagues. |

Houston Texans RB Arian Foster (back, hamstring) missed his third straight practice Friday, Nov. 8, and has been ruled out for Week 10 against the Arizona Cardinals. Interim head coach Wade Phillips said Foster has seen multiple specialists for his back injury, but there is no timetable for his recovery. RB Ben Tate will start and is expected to see the bulk of the workload. RB Dennis Johnson is expected to spell Tate, and Houston is leaning toward using RB Deji Karim as the third running back.
Footballguys view: We might not see Foster again this year. With the Texans on the outside looking in as far as the playoffs are concerned, they are likely to err on the side of shutting Foster down. |

Houston Texans interim head coach Wade Phillips said the team is leaning towards RB Deji Karim as the team's third string running back in the team's Week 10 game.
Footballguys view: More unlikely backs have become big plays down the stretch. Keep this in mind if Ben Tate goes down, as it appears that Arian Foster might out of the picture for a while. |

The Houston Texans have declared OT Andrew Gardner, OG Cody White, RB Deji Karim, RB Ray Graham, LB Jeff Tarpinian, QB T.J. Yates, DL Tim Jamison inactive for Week 9.

The Houston Texans re-signed RB Deji Karim to an undisclosed deal.
Footballguys view: The Texans have a couple of banged up running backs in Arian Foster (hamstring) and Ben Tate (ribs). Karim gives them depth at the position, but he has little fantasy value - even in super deep dynasty leagues. |

The Houston Texans are expected to re-sign free-agent RB Deji Karim Monday, Oct. 28.
Footballguys view: Karim could have value in deep leagues if Arian Foster and Ben Tate are still limited or out from the injuries they suffered in Week 7. |

The Houston Texans have released WR Andy Cruse, RB Deji Karim and CB Elbert Mack. The team also released DT Daniel Muir, DT David Hunter and WR Michael X. Smith after the reached injury settlements with them.
Footballguys view: Karim had an impressive preseason but misses the cut so Cierre Wood can make the team. Wood is now the team's RB3 behind Arian Foster and Ben Tate. He's an interesting prospect to consider in super deep dynasty leagues. Foster may be wearing down and Tate is set to hit free agency next year. |

Houston Texans RBs Cierre Wood, Deji Karim and Dennis Johnson are expected to compete for one roster spot during training camp.
Footballguys view: Wood is an interesting option here and one to keep an eye on in deep dynasty leagues. He's a good all-around runner with vision to find cutback lanes and the foot frequency to make cuts at speed. |

Houston Texans RBs Deji Karim, Cierre Wood, Dennis Johnson and Ray Graham are expected to compete for the No. 3 running back job during offseason workouts and training camp.
Footballguys view: We like Graham in this race to be RB3. The PITT runner looked like he was back to full speed at the Shrine Game earlier this year. He's a natural runner who can make defenders miss in the open field. Wood is also an intriguing option because he's a versatile player. |

The Houston Texans signed RB Deji Karim (Colts) Tuesday, May 14. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: Karim runs with a low center of gravity and can change direction without losing much speed. He gives the Texans veteran depth behind Arian Foster and Ben Tate, plus he can help out on special teams. |

Indianapolis Colts RB Deji Karim ripped off a game-changing 101-yard kickoff return for touchdown in Week 17 against the Houston Texans. It was the fourth-longest kickoff return in franchise history, and was the first since former DB Tyjuan Hagler had a 41-yard onside kickoff return for score in 2010.

The Indianapolis Colts placed RB Donald Brown (ankle) and FB Robert Hughes (knee) on the Injured Reserve Tuesday, Dec. 11, and re-signed RBs Deji Karim and Mewelde Moore to the active roster in corresponding moves. Also, the team signed free-agent RB Davin Meggett (Texans) to the practice squad and released RB Alvester Alexander from the practice squad. OG Justin Anderson (undisclosed) was placed on the practice squad injured list.
Footballguys view: Without Brown in the lineup we'll see the team continue to feature rookie Vick Ballard as the lead back. Two of the next three weeks the Colts face the tough Texans rush defense. That makes Ballard more of a low end RB2 or flex play in week 15 & 17. However, in week 16 (fantasy championship) the Colts face a weak Chiefs defense. Ballard could help you win your title if you can make it through this week. |

Indianapolis Colts RBs Deji Karim and Darren Evans may need their special teams play to determine whether they make the final roster.
Footballguys view: We like Karim as a change of pace back because of his elusiveness and low center of gravity. However, we believe Evans is a better all around talent. Evans is a bigger back who understands angles and does a good job of running to daylight. |

The Philadelphia Eagles put in a claim for RB Deji Karim before he was snatched up off waivers by the Indianapolis Colts.
Footballguys view: It's clear the Eagles want better depth at the RB position behind starter LeSean McCoy. They were able to add Chris Polk (Washington) as an Undrafted Free Agent in addition to drafting Bryce Brown (Kansas State) in the seventh-round of the 2012 NFL Draft. Polk was considered a top 5 RB in this class but wasn't drafted due to serious shoulder problems. Brown was the #1 high school RB to come into college back in 2009 but work ethic concerns at Tennessee and Kansas State caused his draft stock to fall. |

The Indianapolis Colts have claimed free-agent RB Deji Karim (Jaguars) off waivers.
Footballguys view: When he first arrived in Jacksonville Karim looked like a good developmental RB with upside. His play fell off last year and the Jaguars decided to let him go. He's built low to the ground and has good leg drive when he hits the pile. He'll compete for a roster spot with guys like Vick Ballard and Darren Evans. |

The return of Jacksonville Jaguars RB Rashad Jennings (knee) from a knee injury may have helped make RB Deji Karim expendable. Karim's production on offense and special teams dropped in his second year after a promising rookie season. As reported, the Jaguars released Karim Friday, April 27.

Updating a previous report, Jacksonville Jaguars RB Deji Karim is inactive for Week 13 against the San Diego Chargers, but he is healthy. Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio said RB Maurice Jones-Drew is being limited in the early going this year in order to keep him fully healthy. However, Jones-Drew ran 24 times for 97 yards and a touchdown in Week 1 but was on the sidelines for much of the fourth quarter. RB Deji Karim rushed 14 times for 33 yards. Del Rio did not say how many times he is comfortable with Jones-Drew rushing, but he definitely did not want him going over 35 carries.
Footballguys view: Jones-Drew still looked great on his carries before the fourth and limiting him now could help you have him for the fantasy playoffs. This is the right approach by Del Rio. |

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Deji Karim carried 14 times for 33 yards in Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, and he hauled in three receptions for 39 yards. The Jaguars offense was heavily ground-based, as they ran it 47 times and passed on just 24 occasions.
Footballguys view: The Jags controlled the game and wanted to get Maurice Jones-Drew plenty of rest. They could look elsewhere for a backup RB if Karim doesn't do more with his touches soon. |

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Deji Karim, as an update to previous reports, will serve as the team's No. 2 running back behind starting RB Maurice Jones-Drew.
Footballguys view: Karim is basically a MJD clone, even though he's not as physically gifted. Karim runs with proper pad level, forward lean, and does a good job of keeping his legs driving after contact. |

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Deji Karim appears to be the favorite amongst the team's backup running backs to take over as the primary backup to starting RB Maurice Jones-Drew following the loss of RB Rashad Jennings (knee).
Footballguys view: Karim is built (and runs) a lot like Maurice Jones-Drew. He has a low center of gravity and strong leg drive to run through arm tackles. Karim is a quality backup and makes for a good handcuff behind Jones-Drew. |

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Deji Karim (concussion) was sidelined for the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 27, against the Buffalo Bills.
Footballguys view: Karim reminds some of Maurice Jones-Drew because of his size and running style. He'll serve as the third-string back behind MJD and Rashad Jennings. |

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Deji Karim (head) left the preseason game Friday, Aug. 19, against the Atlanta Falcons due to a head injury.
Footballguys view: Undrafted rookies Richard Murphy and DuJuan Harris should get an extended chance to show their stuff for the Jags and more importantly, the other 31 teams, in next week's preseason game. |
