Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones caught eight passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 6. He was targeted 10 times during the game.

Footballguys view: Jones scored early to reassure any concerns about his hamstring and then scored on a fourth down to help put the game away late. He's back in the saddle as a strong WR1 heading into a matchup against Detroit.

  Falcons | Julio Jones a game-time call    Fri Sep 25, 11:37 AM

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones (hamstring) will be a game-time decision in Week 3.

Falcons | More TDs for Julio Jones?    Thu Sep 10, 10:37 PM

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones has led the team in touchdown catches just once in the past five seasons, but offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter plans to create more scoring opportunities for Jones by putting him in space more often. 'I really think for Julio to get more touchdowns, it has to come on either deep throws, or it has to be stuff like slants and intermediate routes where Julio breaks or spins out of a tackle,' Koetter said.

Falcons | Contested catches no issue for Julio Jones    Thu Jun 11, 09:23 PM

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones has amassed 63 contested catches since the start of the 2015 season - the most by any receiver over that span - according to Pro Football Focus.

Footballguys view: This is what Julio Jones does. He'll box out smaller defenders with his large frame and he does a good job of high-pointing passes when they come in. Fantasy GMs want him to score more touchdowns (only one season of double-digit TD grabs) but Jones is still a WR1 and must-start player ever week.

Falcons | Julio Jones tops in intended air yards    Thu May 28, 11:06 PM

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones led all running backs, wide receivers and tight ends with 1,912 intended air yards in 2019.

Footballguys view: Jones is dominant all over the field. He's capable of turning short passes into long gains, and he's capable of tracking passes deep over his shoulder. Jones could score more touchdowns from a fantasy perspective but is still a WR1 you start every week.

Falcons | Julio Jones still a playmaking machine    Tue May 26, 08:10 PM

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones has recorded 286 receptions that have resulted in first downs or touchdowns since 2016, according to Pro Football Focus. Jones trailed only Michael Thomas (299) for the most over that span.

Footballguys view: Jones is still a dominant player, although Fantasy GMs do gripe that he doesn't score enough touchdowns. As the Falcons passing game continues to develop we'll still see Jones at the top of the charts.

Chiefs | Tyreek Hill excels downfield    Thu May 21, 10:10 PM

Kansas City Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill has amassed 1,765 yards on passes that traveled at least 20 yards downfield - more than 500 yards than second-place Julio Jones (1,223) for the most in the league by a player since 2017.

Footballguys view: Hill has the speed to take the top off the defense. That makes him excel down the field and that's not going to change this year. There is really no answer for his speed.

Falcons | Julio Jones the model of consistency    Sun May 10, 10:25 PM

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones ranked second in the NFL in receiving yards in 2019, and he has finished third or better among wideouts in yards in each of the past seven seasons.

Footballguys view: Jones is incredibly consistent in terms of yards, but Fantasy GMs would like if he scored more touchdowns. He's only hit double-digit touchdowns once in his career (12) and that was all the way back in the 2012 season. Even without a ton of scoring punch, Jones is usually a top-5 fantasy receiver regardless of format and he should be that once again in 2020.

Falcons | Julio Jones among all-time greats    Sat Feb 8, 12:54 PM

Atlanta Falcons WR Julio Jones, with 12,125 yards, trails only Randy Moss (12,193) on the list of players with the most receiving yards by the age of 31 in league history. Jones turned 31 Saturday, Feb. 8.

Footballguys view: Jones has been a top-10 fantasy receiver every season since 2014. He showed no signs of slowing down last year with six, 100-yard games and 99 catches for 1,394 yards and six touchdowns. Jones will be a consideration as a WR1 in round two of fantasy drafts once again this summer.

Falcons | Week 17 final stats for Falcons    Sun Dec 29, 04:53 PM

Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan finished up with 30-of-51 passes for 313 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Week 17 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. RB Devonta Freeman led the way with 18 rushes for 58 yards while adding two receptions for 15 yards. WR Julio Jones posted seven catches for a team-best 78 yards on 13 targets, while WR Russell Gage chipped in with seven grabs for 68 yards on 13 targets. TE Austin Hooper also checked in with seven receptions for 45 yards on nine targets. LB Deion Jones recorded a fumble recovery and a 27-yard interception return for touchdown in overtime.

Footballguys view: The Falcons will keep the band together and if the offensive line stays healthy they could be a 2020 success story. Devonta Freeman could be a cap casualty, making the Falcons a possible landing spot for Kenyan Drake, Melvin Gordon or a high running back draft pick.
