Chicago Bears safeties M.D. Jennings and Ryan Mundy lined up as the starting safeties Tuesday, May 27, at organized team activities (OTAs) with FS Chris Conte (shoulder) still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.
Footballguys view: Jennings ended up underwhelming in Green Bay and Mundy is thought to be a better third safety, but with the departure of Major Wright and Chris Conte's awful play against the run last year, the Bears will try anything to see if they can improve the safety position. |

Green Bay Packers safeties coach Darren Perry said he does not think FS M.D. Jennings or SS Jerron McMillian have an edge for the starting safety job next to FS Morgan Burnett. 'I don't think either one of those guys separated themselves in terms of being 'that guy' at the end of the last season,' Darren Perry said. 'They both made strides and I think they're going to be fine football players, I really do. But in terms of who distinguishes themselves as 'the guy,' we're just going to have to wait and see and enjoy the competition.'
