Lions | Could show interest in Jason Babin Wed Nov 28, 11:03 AM
The Detroit Lions could have some interest in free-agent DE Jason Babin (Eagles) but not through waivers. Any team that claims Babin will be responsible for the balance of his $5.575-million contract this year, about $1.8 million. The Lions don't have enough cap space to take on that deal without restructuring current contracts. However, DE Cliff Avril and DE Lawrence Jackson will be unrestricted free agents after the season, and DE Kyle Vanden Bosch just turned 34, so the Lions might be interested in Babin.

Detroit Lions DE Lawrence Jackson was fined $15,750 for a low hit in Week 7 against Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick. He posted on his official Twitter page Friday, Oct. 19, that he plans to appeal the fine.
