Texans | Carlos Hyde rushes for 160 yards    Sun Nov 3, 12:52 PM

Houston Texans RB Carlos Hyde rushed for 160 yards on 19 carries against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9. Hyde did lose a fumble during the game.

Footballguys view: Hyde got free for a couple of long runs against a Jacksonville defense that was worn out from defending Deshaun Watson. He remains a matchup flex heading into the bye.

Houston Texans RB Duke Johnson out-snapped RB Carlos Hyde 39-to-26 in the Week 7 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts Sunday, Oct. 20.

Footballguys view: Johnson has the skill to handle a larger workload. We'll see if the Texans continue on this trend of getting Johnson more snaps than Hyde. Johnson has flex appeal in PPR leagues.

Texans | Carlos Hyde runs for 116 yards, score    Sun Oct 13, 07:05 PM

Houston Texans RB Carlos Hyde rushed 26 times for 116 yards and a touchdown in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs and he added a 14-yard reception on his only target.

Footballguys view: The Chiefs run defense is the achilles heel and for the third straight week a workhorse back wore them down in the second half. Hyde will face the Colts next week coming off of his best game of the year and Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman will run at a weary Chiefs defense on Thursday.

Texans | Houston adds Carlos Hyde    Sat Aug 31, 03:55 PM

Kansas City Chiefs RB Carlos Hyde was acquired by the Houston Texans Saturday, Aug. 31, in exchange for OT Martinas Rankin.

Footballguys view: Hyde wasn't going to make the Chiefs final roster, largely due to the emergence of guys like Darwin Thompson. The Texans need running back help after losing Lamar Miller for the season with a knee injury. Hyde will compete for snaps/touches behind starter Duke Johnson Jr.

Chiefs | Carlos Hyde likely out    Thu Aug 29, 01:20 PM

Kansas City Chiefs RB Carlos Hyde is likely to be released this weekend, barring a late-preseason injury, in the opinion of NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal.

Footballguys view: Zero surprise here. This has been trending towards Hyde getting released for quite some time. He's simply been outplayed by guys like Darwin Thompson, the fantasy darling GMs are drafting as a handcuff to Damien Williams.

Chiefs | Carlos Hyde making most of reps    Sun Aug 4, 12:12 PM

Kansas City Chiefs RB Carlos Hyde has seen increased reps with the first team with RB Damien Williams currently sidelined with a hamstring injury. 'Carlos has done a nice job,' head coach Andy Reid said. 'He's getting a lot of reps and he's taking advantage of them.'

Footballguys view: One Chiefs beat writer and Gregg Rosenthal both raised the possibility of Hyde not making the team, but these positive words from the coach seem to downplay that doomsday scenario. He still deserves to be the second Chiefs back off of the board, but Darwin Thompson and Darrel Williams need to stay on our waiver wire watch lists, and maybe even on our late round target lists in deeper leagues.

Chiefs | Carlos Hyde lines up with Damien Williams    Wed Jun 12, 11:31 PM

Kansas City Chiefs RB Carlos Hyde is listed as the backup to RB Damien Williams, but he has been busy at minicamp, lining up along with Williams in the teams backfield on occasion. He has been used as a receiver. 'For a running back like me who likes to catch the ball, it would be like a dream come true,' Hyde said Wednesday, June 12.

Footballguys view: Williams is the Chiefs back Fantasy GMs are going nuts for...and we get it. In that offense with Williams skill set it could mean big fantasy points. However, everyone needs to know that the Chiefs staff loves the addition of Hyde this offseason. He could push for a larger role than most think. Right now, Williams has an ADP of RB12 (2.07) and Hyde is going off the board at RB45 (10.04) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Chiefs | Carlos Hyde to have a role?    Sat Mar 9, 09:24 PM

Free-agent RB Carlos Hyde (Jaguars) could see significant playing time after agreeing to a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, in the opinion of Adam Teicher of ESPN.com, because of general manager Brett Veach's preference for bigger backs. 'I kind of have a thing for 220-pound backs that can run and catch and block,' Veach said.

Chiefs | Carlos Hyde joining Kansas City    Sat Mar 9, 03:47 PM

Free-agent RB Carlos Hyde (Jaguars) agreed to a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, March 9. Yahoo Sports! writer Terez A. Paylor reports the deal is worth $2.8 million, citing a source.

Footballguys view: Hyde is a powerful runner who can also catch passes out of the backfield (although he didn't do that much in 2018 after having 59 receptions in 2017). The Chiefs are likely to use him in a RBBC with Damien Williams in 2019. Williams is the lead back and better receiver. We'll see how this combo works out in training camp and the preseason.

Chiefs | Carlos Hyde to visit Kansas City    Fri Mar 8, 11:45 PM

Free-agent RB Carlos Hyde (Jaguars) is scheduled to visit the Kansas City Chiefs Saturday, March 9.

Footballguys view: The Chiefs will be looking for running back help this offseason. Hyde failed to impress in about a half a season with the Jaguars in 2018. Perhaps another change of scenery will get him back on track.

Jaguars | Carlos Hyde released    Fri Mar 8, 11:48 AM

Jaguars | Carlos Hyde on trade block    Sat Mar 2, 12:30 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Carlos Hyde is being shopped to other teams in a trade, according to sources.

Footballguys view: We doubt the Jaguars get any takers for Hyde. He's on the books for two more years, and Hyde has a 2019 cap hit of $4.7 million with zero remaining in dead money. Expect the Jaguars to release Hyde in the near future.

Jaguars | Carlos Hyde unlikely to stay    Thu Feb 21, 02:45 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Carlos Hyde is expected to be released this offseason. Cutting Hyde would save the Jaguars $4.75 million in salary cap space.

Footballguys view: The Browns traded Hyde to the Jaguars in the 2018 season for a fifth-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft. Hyde didn't do much to impress in Jacksonville. His market should be somewhat cool as a free agent, although we expect some team to sign him for veteran depth.

Jaguars | Carlos Hyde could be let go    Sat Jan 26, 02:41 PM

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Carlos Hyde could be released this offseason because the team would save $4.75 million in salary cap space if Hyde is let go.

Footballguys view: No surprise here. Hyde signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the Browns last offseason but only lasted a few months before being traded to Jacksonville at the trade deadline. He's got a cap hit of $4.7 million in 2019 with zero remaining in dead money.

Jaguars | Carlos Hyde likely to see more action    Wed Nov 28, 08:21 AM

Jacksonville Jaguars RB Carlos Hyde is likely to see more action in Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts with RB Leonard Fournette's one-game suspension upheld.

Footballguys view: Hyde should see more action...but he's still working in a RBBC with T.J. Yeldon this week. He's played about 12 snaps on average over the last three games, but Hyde should see an increase against the Colts on Sunday. We feel Hyde could produce like a RB3/deep flex play for Fantasy GMs.
