  Seahawks | Seattle's Week 7 injury report    Fri Oct 23, 05:59 PM

Seattle Seahawks S Jamal Adams (groin) did not participate in practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 7 against the Arizona Cardinals. OG Mike Iupati (back) was upgraded to a limited practice Friday, Oct. 23, and is listed as questionable. FB Nick Bellore (non-injury) did not practice for a second straight day Friday but has been removed from the injury report. OT Duane Brown (knee, non-injury), CB Quinton Dunbar (knee, non-injury) and DT Anthony Rush (knee) were limited in practice Friday but no longer appear on the injury report. LB Jordyn Brooks (knee), RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder, toe), OG Damien Lewis (ankle) and DE Benson Mayowa (knee) practiced in full Friday and have also been removed from the injury report. TE Will Dissly (Achilles), OT Jamarco Jones (cramps), WR Tyler Lockett (non-injury), WR DK Metcalf (non-injury) and OT Brandon Shell (illness) were not given a practice designation Friday but are expected to play.

Footballguys view: Adams being out will help Kyler Murray, as Adams would be the best "spy" to limited the quarterback's running ability. Hyde will be ready to be Chris Carson's backup again this week after missing two weeks before the bye.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde limited Thursday    Thu Oct 8, 08:21 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) was limited during practice Thursday, Oct. 8.

Footballguys view: Hyde is closer to playing than he was last week, but a shoulder injury for a power back is never a good thing. The Seahawks might be inclined to let him sit vs. Minnesota so he can get three weeks off with the bye next week. Travis Homer and Deejay Dallas would back up Chris Carson vs. Minnesota if Hyde can't go.

Seattle Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) was limited during practice Friday, Oct. 2, and is listed as questionable for Week 4.

Seahawks | Seattle to go with hot hand at RB?    Fri Sep 11, 06:33 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Chris Carson may be looking at splitting carries a bit more evenly in 2020 with Carlos Hyde, according to comments made by head coach Pete Carroll on Friday, Sept. 11.'Sometimes you go with who's hot. They're going to both play. We'll see what happens when they get out there. If it looks like somebody's got something going on that day, we'll stick with it,' Carroll said.

Footballguys view: Carson is still RB2 material, but if Carlos Hyde gets more work than Rashaad Penny got last year, then he might not have the RB1 weekly ceiling he had last year.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde to be important piece    Wed Aug 26, 07:25 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde will be 'a big factor' for the team in 2020, according to head coach Pete Carroll Wednesday, Aug. 26.

Footballguys view: Hyde has a productive track record in the NFL. He's got the power to beat up a defense and he's proven to be able to carry a large workload. Chris Carson is the team's starter but he's been banged up quite a bit as a pro. Perhaps the team could use Hyde a bit more to keep Carson fresh or give him a breather from time to time. We'll see how these two backs are used when the season kicks off.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde understands role    Mon Jun 8, 03:40 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde said he knows that he will be competing for the No. 2 running back job and that RB Chris Carson is the starting running back.

Footballguys view: Hyde is coming off a 1,000-yard season on the ground last year with the Texans but he's a clear reserve in Seattle. Hyde should be able to win that no.2 job in training camp, making him a high-value handcuff for Fantasy GMs with deep benches.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde says he is on track    Mon Jun 8, 03:35 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) said he believes he is on track in his recovery from shoulder surgery and thinks he will be ready for training camp.

Footballguys view: Hyde may be ready for training camp, but the Seahawks are likely to ease him into action. He's there to be the primary backup to Chris Carson and they'll want him available at the start of the regular season. Hyde is a seasoned veteran who doesn't need a ton of work in camp or the preseason.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde contract terms    Fri May 29, 12:16 PM

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde's one-year contract with the team has a base value of $2.75 million, which includes a $750,000 signing bonus, $1.5 million base salary and $500,000 per-game roster bonuses. The deal also includes incentives worth $1.25 million with a maximum value of $4 million.

Footballguys view: Hyde was an important piece for the Seahawks to add this offseason. He's a proven 1,000-yard rusher who could start and be productive if called upon. In Seattle, Hyde is going to be a valuable reserve behind starter Chris Carson.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde officially signs with SEA    Thu May 28, 04:54 PM

Updating a previous report, free-agent RB Carlos Hyde (Texans) officially signed with the Seattle Seahawks Thursday, May 28. Official terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: We've known about this deal for some time and today it became official. Hyde had 1,000 yards rushing for the Texans last year but failed to get much interest in free agency. Seattle needed to sign him as a backup to Chris Carson since Rashaad Penny is likely to be on the PUP list to begin the regular season. Hyde (shoulder) played much of the 2019 season with a torn labrum and underwent surgery in February.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde to complement Chris Carson    Tue May 26, 06:59 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde is expected to complement RB Chris Carson with early-down work in 2020, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times.

Footballguys view: That sounds about right. The Seahawks needed someone to back up Carson with former first-round pick Rashaad Penny expected to be placed on the PUP list to begin the regular season. Hyde is coming off a 1,000-yard season with the Texans in 2019 and has a running style similar to that of Carson.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde had surgery    Fri May 22, 10:21 PM

Seattle Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde (shoulder) played much of the 2019 season with a torn labrum and underwent surgery in February.

Footballguys view: The truth comes out now about Hyde. He is coming off a 1,000-yard season with the Texans but couldn't find a new team until now. His shoulder must've checked out (or been a non-issue) for the Seahawks to sign him on Friday.

Seahawks | Carlos Hyde to join Seahawks    Fri May 22, 06:08 PM

Free-agent RB Carlos Hyde (Texans) agreed to terms with the Seattle Seahawks Friday, May 22, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Hyde fits the hard-hitting rushing attack the Seahawks have with starter Chris Carson. The team needed help in the backfield since former first-round pick Rashaad Penny is unlikely to be ready for the start of the regular season. Hyde had over 1,000 yards rushing last year for the Texans but will serve as a backup to Carson in 2020.

Eagles | Philadelphia looking at three RBs    Thu May 21, 04:30 PM

Free-agent RB Devonta Freeman (Falcons), RB Carlos Hyde (Texans) and RB LeSean McCoy (Chiefs) are the three running backs the Philadelphia Eagles are currently considering signing, according to sources.

Footballguys view: The Eagles are looking for veteran depth behind Miles Sanders. It would be easy to bring back McCoy to the Eagles, and he knows what to do in that offense. He might be the cheaper of all the options listed. We should see all three of these backs sign somewhere before the start of training camp.

Seahawks | Seattle considering Carlos Hyde    Wed May 20, 05:04 PM

Free-agent RB Carlos Hyde (Texans) has received some interest from the Seattle Seahawks this offseason.

Footballguys view: There has been some buzz around Hyde possible joining the Eagles, but the Seahawks could use a veteran back as well. Hyde is coming off a 1,000 yard season with the Texans and could be at least a short-yardage and goal-line banger for any team that adds him.

NFL | Carlos Hyde asked to plow straight ahead in 2019    Mon May 11, 10:28 PM

Free-agent RB Carlos Hyde ran in between left and right guard an NFL-high 137 times last season.

Footballguys view: Hyde was a 1,000-yard rusher last year for the Texans but has yet to latch on with a team for the 2020 season. The Eagles are interested where they could use him as a two-down banger in a RBBC with Miles Sanders. We'll see if they end up offering him a contract. No matter who signs him, Hyde has a formula for success and the advanced data shows you that's right between the tackles.

Eagles | Carlos Hyde has Eagles' interest    Mon May 11, 10:09 AM

Free-agent RB Carlos Hyde (Texans) has received interest from the Philadelphia Eagles.

Footballguys view: Hyde was hoping to re-sign with the Texans after his 1,000-yard rushing season in 2019 but that didn't happen. Instead, he might be turning his sights to a team like the Eagles. They have Miles Sanders as their top back but Hyde would give them a proven veteran who could share the workload. Signing Hyde would certainly have a negative impact on the fantasy potential of Sanders in 2020. Sanders can be a three-down back but split time as a rookie last year with Jordan Howard. He might be looking at a split with Hyde if the team signs the veteran.

Texans | Carlos Hyde's agent meets with HOU    Fri Feb 28, 06:49 PM

Houston Texans impending free-agent RB Carlos Hyde's agent met with the Texans at the NFL Scouting Combine, according to sources.

Footballguys view: Hyde wants to stay with the Texans after having the best season of his pro career with them in 2019. We should see these two sides be able to come to an agreement that is mutually beneficial. Hyde isn't going to get a deal that break the bank and the Texans know that he can be a key part of their offense when healthy.

Texans | Carlos Hyde hopes to stay in Houston    Sun Jan 12, 10:41 PM

Houston Texans RB Carlos Hyde's one-year contract is set to expire at the end of the league year, and he has made it clear he wants to remain with the team on a more long-term basis. The team reportedly has interest in a deal as well, according to a source. 'Yes, I definitely want to be back here. I don't want to go to another team and start all over again. I felt like Houston was home. I think I handled my part. I've just got to let things play out in the offseason and see what happens,' Hyde told the Houston Chronicle.

Footballguys view: Hyde outperformed expectations with durability and strong performances in some wins, but the Texans could get a younger runner who can add more speed or elusiveness to a lead runner profile. Hyde could be a backup elsewhere if the Texans don't bring him back.

Texans | Houston blows big lead, falls in Kansas City    Sun Jan 12, 06:31 PM

Houston Texans QB Deshaun Watson completed 31-of-52 passes for 388 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 51-31 AFC Divisional Round playoff game loss against the Kansas City Chiefs, as the team blew a 24-0 lead. RB Carlos Hyde rushed 13 times for 44 yards, while Watson also added 37 yards and a score. WR DeAndre Hopkins ended up with nine grabs for 118 yards on a game-high 14 targets. WR Will Fuller was a nice secondary option with 89 yards on five catches, while WR Kenny Stills posted three receptions for 80 yards and a touchdown. TE Darren Fells also had three catches for 22 yards and a touchdown on seven targets. RB Duke Johnson also chipped in with 11 rushing yards and five grabs for 23 yards. CB Lonnie Johnson also had a blocked kick return for touchdown in the first quarter while totaling four solo tackles.

Footballguys view: Watson was gifted a 24-0 lead but then turned into a deer in the headlights like his teammates as the game quickly slipped away. The stats were great in a perfect fantasy football game script, but this game will be remembered as an all-time collapse. The Texans are unlikely to make any majors this offseason and will be without their first and third round picks in the draft.

Houston Texans LB Jake Martin (knee) and LB Benardrick McKinney (concussion) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for Week 16 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. S Jahleel Addae (Achilles), WR Will Fuller (hamstring), RB Carlos Hyde (ankle, non-injury), RB Taiwan Jones (hamstring) and LB Brennan Scarlett (Achilles, shoulder) were limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 19, and are listed as questionable. TE Darren Fells (hand) and WR DeAndre Hopkins (illness) practiced in full Thursday and have been removed from the injury report.

Footballguys view: Martin has been adding some pass rush punch lately and will be missed. Fuller's hamstring is still affecting him to some extent, but the Bucs matchup is compelling enough to make him a WR3/Flex this week as long as he's active Saturday.
