Minnesota Vikings DE Danielle Hunter (neck) has a herniated disc in his neck and has been advised by multiple people to sit out the entire 2020 season, according to The Athletic's Chad Graff. Head coach Mike Zimmer previously referred to the injury as a 'tweak' prior to Hunter being placed on the Reserve/Injured list.

| Footballguys view: This is usually a fork in the road where one side leads to surgery and the end of the season. The Vikings are unlikely to contend for the playoffs without a stunning turnaround, so taking the long term solution over the short term to get Hunter back on the field quicker might be in the best interest of both Hunter and the franchise. |
