The Arizona Cardinals have re-signed free-agent DE Vonnie Holliday to a one-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed. In a corresponding move, the team released DE Conrad Obi.

The Arizona Cardinals are trading RB Tim Hightower to the Washington Redskins for a conditional late-round draft pick and DL Vonnie Holliday.

Footballguys view: The Cardinals selected Ryan Williams in the second-round of the 2011 NFL Draft and he will compete with Beanie Wells in camp for the starting job. We like Williams to win the competition and be the team's primary back. Williams has great vision, footwork, instincts, and the speed to be a big play back.

  Redskins | Facilities remain closed    Thu Apr 28, 11:18 AM

Washington Redskins players remain banned from working out at the team's facilities. LB Lorenzo Alexander and C Casey Rabach both attempted to enter the facility Thursday, April 28, but left shortly after they arrived. DL Vonnie Holliday, who had served as team representative for the defunct players' union, said he has been told the doors will remain closed. 'The doors are still closed and as I understand it, they will remain closed until the appeals process is completed,' Holliday said.

The Washington Redskins are going to sign free-agent DL Vonnie Holliday (Broncos) Monday, May 17, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, via Twitter. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: Holliday played last year with the Broncos, and his signing could be another indication the Redskins are going to trade Albert Haynesworth in the near future.

The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos DT Vonnie Holliday revealed he underwent knee surgery in late January, which is what prevented him from signing a contract this spring. Holliday said, "A lot of people don't know this, but I had my knee cleaned up and then I got released by Miami and I found myself in free agency: a 12th-year pro, 33 years old and coming off knee surgery. So, when I met with the Broncos I had a puffy knee."

Brian Biggane, of the Palm Beach Post, reports Cary Fabricant, agent for unrestricted free-agent DL Vonnie Holliday (Dolphins), said it likely will be a few weeks into training camp before Holliday signs with a team.

Footballguys view: The Dolphins released Holliday last March just before he was due to receive a $1.5 million bonus, and he was set to earn $5.75 million this season. The Dolphins decided they could go a cheaper route, but could decide to re-sign him if injuries strike in training camp.

The Palm Beach Post is reporting with all the question marks on the Dolphins' defensive line, it's not beyond the realm of possibility that Bill Parcells and Co. might consider bringing Vonnie Holliday back sometime before the start of the season.
