Former Green Bay Packers RB Ahman Green was released by the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL Sunday, June 5. A hamstring in training camp set him back. He last played for the Omaha Nighthawks in the UFL in 2010.
Footballguys view: Green's playing days are likely over. The original 'Batman' may try to go back to the UFL this year but we don't feel he'll play in the NFL ever again. |

The UFL announced Wednesday, June 9, that free-agent RB Ahman Green (Packers) has joined the Omaha Nighthawks, reports Aaron Wilson, of NationalFootballPost.com.
Footballguys view: Ahman Green goes back to Nebraska where he was a star for the Cornhuskers. The veteran back could still get the call up to the NFL when training camp injuries strike, but in the meantime should be a feature back for the Nighthawks. |

The Omaha Nighthawks have talked extensively with free-agent RB Ahman Green (Packers), reports Jon Nyatawa, of the Omaha World-Herald. Green said, "It looks promising, but I'm just waiting still, keeping my options open. For me, it's not a fallback plan at all. I want to play football. The Omaha team would be a great fit."
Footballguys view: Ahman Green would likely be a backup if he stayed in the NFL, but he could have a larger role if he went to the UFL. |

I'm just getting myself in shape and getting ready for 2010,' Green said. Green added he does not mind what his role with the team will be should he return. 'I'm a football player so (the role) doesn't really matter,' Green said. 'I know the way the game goes. I know my role ... go in there full tilt. Even if it's just as a third-down guy and special teamer, I've played that before too, so I know how to approach it and be just as professional as a starter.'
