The Kansas City Chiefs released WR Mardy Gilyard.
Footballguys view: Gilyard was a fourth round and top 100 pick by the Rams in 2010, but he hasn't been able to stick with a team for more than a year since then. |

Free-agent WR Mardy Gilyard (Jets) posted on his official Twitter account Friday, Feb. 8, that he has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Footballguys view: Gilyard has bounced around the league during his short pro career. He's been with Andy Reid before as he was picked up by the Eagles in 2012. On November 23, 2012, he was released by the Eagles to make room for Greg Salas. |

The New York Jets waived WR Mardy Gilyard Monday, Dec. 24.
Footballguys view: Gilyard showed some promise coming out of college but has now bounced around to three different teams during his pro career. He may get a spot on a practice squad somewhere but has no dynasty value. |

The New York Jets have declared CB Aaron Berry, OG Caleb Schlauderaff, DL Damon Harrison, CB Donnie Fletcher, TE Dustin Keller, WR Mardy Gilyard, LB Ricky Sapp inactive for Week 16.

The Philadelphia Eagles have claimed WR Greg Salas off waivers from the New England Patriots. In a corresponding move, the team released WR Mardy Gilyard.
Footballguys view: Salas has bounced around from the Rams to the Patriots to the Eagles in just two years. We're not expecting much from a fantasy perspective, but he could help the team as a punt returner. |

Updating a previous report, Philadelphia Eagles WR Mardy Gilyard signed a two-year deal Tuesday, Sept. 11. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Footballguys view: This signing could be a negative sign for the availability of Jeremy Maclin, who suffered a hip flexor in the game against the Browns. Gilyard gives the team depth at the WR position but we don't feel he'll have much of a fantasy impact. |

The Philadelphia Eagles released S Jaiquawn Jarrett and signed WR Mardy Gilyard (Rams) Tuesday, Sept. 11.
Footballguys view: Jarrett was a second-round pick for the Eagles in the 2011 NFL Draft. He was supposed to be an enforcer at the Safety position but never played up to his potential and had fallen to the bottom of the depth chart. |

Jones, WR Marvin McNutt, LB Adrian Moten, DT Ollie Ogbu, LB Ryan Rau, DE Monte Taylor, SS Phillip Thomas, DT Frank Trotter, OG Steve Vallos and OG Brandon Washington.
Footballguys view: McNutt was seen as having a chance to displace Riley Cooper after he broke his collarbone, but the big receiver couldn't impress enough to make the team. He's a candidate for the practice squad. |

The New York Jets released WR Mardy Gilyard Friday, Sept. 9, and they promoted CB Isaiah Trufant from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
Footballguys view: Gilyard has been cut from two teams this year and neither of those teams has even played a game. He can safely be dropped in even the deepest of redraft leagues until he lasts more than a week with a team. |

The New York Jets have claimed free-agent WR Mardy Gilyard (Rams) and SS Andrew Sendejo (Cowboys).
Footballguys view: Gilyard landed in a spot with good long-term opportunity if he can stick. Most of the wide receivers ahead of him on the depth chart are either old or inexperienced. |

The St. Louis Rams have released WR Mardy Gilyard.
Footballguys view: Gilyard could make another squad as a special teams player but offers little as a WR. |

St. Louis Rams WRs Danario Alexander (knee), Danny Amendola, Donnie Avery (knee), Mardy Gilyard and Greg Salas each got a chance in the preseason game Friday, Aug. 26, against the Kansas City Chiefs. Alexander had one grab for three yards, Amendola had two snares for 15 yards, Avery had two catches for 26 yards and he was targeted five times. Salas was also targeted five times, posting two grabs for 17 yards. Gilyard also managed three receptions for 18 yards while being targeted four times. Avery and Gilyard appear to have a leg up for jobs, especially over Alexander, who has battled chronic knee problems.
Footballguys view: Amendola is sure to make the team, and Salas strengthened his case with a nice catch over the middle. Avery, Alexander, and Gilyard are fighting for one spot most likely, and none of them did much to help their cause. |

St. Louis Rams WR Mardy Gilyard (migraines) and CB Mikail Baker (hamstring) did not participate in practice Friday, Aug. 12. Baker has been ruled out of the preseason game Saturday, Aug. 13.
Footballguys view: Gilyard is probably going to get cut, but look for him to get snapped up by another team. |

St. Louis Rams second-year WR Mardy Gilyard (undisclosed) has had a solid start during training camp. He saw some first-string reps at slot receiver while WR Danny Amendola was not allowed to practice due to post-lockout rules. He had to be helped off the field by the team's training staff Tuesday, Aug. 9, and head coach Steve Spagnuolo said Gilyard was having trouble seeing. He wasn't sure if Gilyard was suffering from migraines.
Footballguys view: Gilyard needs to have a strong performance in training camp and the preseason if he wants to make the team. The Rams have a solid group of WRs on the team and not everyone is going to make the team. Gilyard is on the roster bubble but could make the team if he continues to play hard. |

The Turf Show Times, reports Rams second-year WR Mardy Gilyard finally showed up at players only workouts this week. After a disappointing rookie season many wondered why he was not working with his teammates earlier this offseason.
Footballguys view: Gilyard is certainly on the roster bubble, and may not make the final roster for the Rams this year. His skill set is a good fit for a Josh McDaniels system, but he must improve his work ethic if he's to play up to his potential. We think Gilyard will be hard pressed to make the team and could have to continue his pro career elsewhere. |

St. Louis Rams WR Mardy Gilyard's agent, Andy Simms, has denied a report that states Gilyard has requested a trade. 'Mardy Gilyard never requested a trade. Untrue,' Simms said on his Twitter page.
Footballguys view: This report is contrary to a report that was out yesterday. Gilyard is looking to avoid controversy, and we feel he's already on the roster bubble. The Rams added two WRs in the 2011 NFL Draft, which cramped the depth chart even further. |

Cecil Lammey, NFL Insider for FRSN and senior writer at Footballguys.com, says Rams sources have told him WRs Mardy Gilyard, Laurent Robinson, Brandon McRae, Dominique Curry and Brandon Gibson could be on the roster bubble during training camp.
Footballguys view: Not a complete surprise here. The Rams are revamping their offense under Josh McDaniels and selected both Austin Pettis and Greg Salas in the 2011 NFL Draft. Pettis is a classic possession receiver with good size. Salas is a dynamic athlete who knows how to make tough catches look routine. The WR corps in St. Louis should be cramped because of the emergence of Danario Alexander and the anticipated re-signing of Mark Clayton. |

Bernie Miklasz, from the St. Louis Post Dispatch, believes that both wide receivers Mardy Gilyard and Brandon Gibson could be in jeopardy of making the team in 2011.
Footballguys view: Gilyard struggled to pick up the offense last season and now will see an even more complex system installed by OC Josh McDaniels. The lockout has prevented teams from giving playbooks to players which could also hold Gilyard back in his development. Gibson has a pedestrian skill set and could be on the outside looking in. The Rams selected Austin Pettis and Greg Salas in the 2011 NFL Draft and both are locks to make the roster. |

St. Louis Rams general manager Billy Devaney said the team is expecting a big jump from WR Mardy Gilyard next season because he will have a full offseason to get familiar with the offensive system. Gilyard was slowed last offseason because of school requirements as well as an injury which made him have to learn on the run during the regular season.
Footballguys view: Gilyard could help the Rams WR corps immensely if he can continue to develop his raw skill set. He needs to become a better route runner and get stronger against press coverage. |

Footballguys view: Gilyard had pins inserted into his wrist, and the wrist was placed in a cast. The Rams medical staff is hopeful Gilyard will be available for minicamp in the spring. |
