Giants | NYG caps regular season with a victory    Sun Jan 3, 05:54 PM

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones completed 17-of-25 passes for 229 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in Week 17 against the Dallas Cowboys. RB Wayne Gallman rushed 11 times for 65 yards, while WR Sterling Shepard had eight receptions for a game-high 112 yards with a touchdown, and he ran twice for 24 yards and a score. WR Dante Pettis added two receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown, while WR Darius Slayton closed the regular season with two catches and 22 yards on four targets. TE Evan Engram was also targeted four times, ending up with two catches and 17 yards. LB Blake Martinez ended up with 11 total stops, a sack, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hit, and DE Leonard Williams had three sacks.

Footballguys view: Jones looked sharp and healthy in this one and the Giants offense did enough combined with a heroic performance by the defense. Now the Giants wait to see if Philadelphia can beat Washington and punch their ticket into the playoffs. The Giants would host the Buccaneers.

Giants | Wayne Gallman expected to start    Sat Oct 31, 12:53 PM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman is expected to be the team's primary running back Monday, Nov. 1, in Week 8 with starter Devonta Freeman likely to miss the game with an ankle injury.

Footballguys view: That is the plan and Gallman should get a starter's workload. However, Fantasy GMs shouldn't rush to get him in the lineup. Against a tough Buccaneers defense, Gallman is likely going to produce like an RB3/flex play in Week 8.

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman carried the ball 10 times for 34 yards and a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, Oct. 22. Gallman added five receptions for 20 yards.

Footballguys view: Gallman was productive with his work, but he might not get the start next week since Devonta Freeman has an extra three days to rest and heal after the Thursday night game. Tampa is up next week so whoever starts will have a dim outlook.

Giants | Committee backfield in NY?    Thu Sep 24, 12:20 PM

New York Giants head coach Joe Judge was asked Thursday, Sept. 24, what his plan will be if one of his three running backs, Dion Lewis, Wayne Gallman or Devonta Freeman, gets 'hot' in a game. 'He may be the guy for that moment. He may be the guy for that game,' Judge said, adding that the plan will to be use each of them, each week, depending on the game plan.

Footballguys view: That sounds about right. This 'hot hand' approach with backup-level talent means Fantasy GMs should try to find other options if they can. If one back emerges, then we'll change our outlook but right now it looks like a cluster.

New England's defense is 3rd-best in the league, allowing an average of 78.0 rushing yards per game. Hilliman is nothing more than a RB3 or deep flex play at best.

Giants | Wayne Gallman's stock falling?    Fri Jun 28, 10:08 PM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman appears to have fallen behind RB Paul Perkins in the battle for the No. 2 running back job, and Gallman isn't a lock to be the No. 3 back at this point, according to Matt Lombardo of NJ.com.

Footballguys view: Gallman looked serviceable as a receiver and runner in limited action in 2017, but appears to be falling out of favor with the current regime. He's a versatile high effort back but might be looking for a job after the team added Rod Smith.

Giants | Wayne Gallman making play for No. 2 spot    Tue Jul 10, 12:13 PM

New York Giants RB Wayne Gallman has the 'inside track for the job as a change-of-pace complement' over Jonathan Stewart and Robert Martin, according to Matt Lombardo of NJ.com.

Footballguys view: Stewart has looked slow and former Rutgers back Martin is an undrafted free agent who had an impressive rookie mini-camp, and so is pretty unproven. Gallman has some talent but Saquon Barkley is the bellcow here and unless he gets hurt or implodes, consider Gallman a late-draft handcuff.
