Kansas City Chiefs DT Derrick Nnadi (tricep), WR Skyy Moore (knee) and OG Joe Thuney (pectoral) did not practice all week and have been ruled out for the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens. OT Prince Tega Wanogho (quad) practiced in full all week but has also been ruled out. LB Willie Gay (neck) did not practice on Friday, Jan. 26, but is listed as questionable. S Mike Edwards (concussion) was upgraded to full practice on Friday but is also listed as questionable. CB L'Jarius Sneed (calf) was limited in practice all week but has been removed from the injury report.   Buccaneers | Blaine Gabbert has edge over Kyle Trask    Sat Jun 25, 02:33 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Blaine Gabbert has the edge over QB Kyle Trask for the team's backup quarterback job, according to head coach Todd Bowles. 'I'm comfortable with Blaine,' Bowles said. 'We talk a lot. You know, we've gotten to know each other over the past couple of years. He knows this offense very well. He understands the offense very well. He knows where to go with the football because he's been in it. You know, that gives him the edge over Trask.'

Footballguys view: The Buccaneers are in a Super Bowl window so long as QB Tom Brady is under center. They need veteran insurance like Gabbert in case Brady gets banged up during the season. Trask is still a player we like in dynasty formats, and we're excited to see his progress as a passer during training camp and the preseason.

Footballguys view: This move was reported about a week ago...to nobody's surprise. Now, we'll see if Gabbert can win the backup job in 2021. He should be able to but will have to compete with 2021 second-round pick Kyle Trask. The Bucs also have Ryan Griffin on their roster but he's likely pushed off the roster by the pick of Trask.

Buccaneers | Blaine Gabbert may return    Sat May 1, 08:51 PM

Free-agent QB Blaine Gabbert (Buccaneers) is a player head coach Bruce Arians would like to re-sign this offseason.

Footballguys view: The Buccaneers added Kyle Trask (Florida) in the 2021 NFL draft but he's a developmental player who should not be trusted as a direct backup to Tom Brady just yet. Adding Gabbert would give the Buccaneers the veteran presence they need behind Brady and allow them to bring Trask along as a third-string option.

Buccaneers | Blaine Gabbert primed to succeed Tom Brady?    Fri Feb 12, 12:37 AM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Blaine Gabbert is a realistic candidate to take over as the starting quarterback for the Buccaneers should Tom Brady choose to retire after the 2021 season, based on comments made by general manager Jason Licht on Thursday, Feb. 11.'He is one guy, my scouts and I talk about this a lot, he's just one guy that I love to watch throw every day in practice because he has got a cannon. He's very accurate with his throws as well and he can just really whistle them in in tight windows. If ... he had been forced to play more, I think that he would have really opened a lot of people's eyes about how talented he is, especially being in the same system for a couple of years,' Licht told the Pewter Report podcast.

Footballguys view: Gabbert has been a bust to this point in his career. However, there is a chance the Buccaneers want him to take over when Brady is done. That could be after the 2021 season, or if Brady has his way after the 2022 season. Ryan Tannehill was able to turn his career around, so let's not discount what Gabbert could be. It's a longshot to be sure, but it's not impossible as the dirty little secret in the NFL is 'fit.' It's all about fit, and Gabbert seems to fit what the Buccaneers want to do.

Buccaneers | Tom Brady throws with teammates at prep school    Tue May 19, 12:03 PM

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Tom Brady conducted an on-field throwing session Tuesday, May 19, with several teammates at a local-area prep school. The session lasted about two hours, and Brady was seen walking through routes, including demonstrations of precise foot placement for making breaks. Brady was joined by WR Mike Evans, TE O.J. Howard, TE Cameron Brate, QB Blaine Gabbert, C Ryan Jensen, QB Ryan W. Griffin, WR Scott Miller and RB Dare Ogunbowale.

Footballguys view: It's going to be different to see Brady playing for a new team in 2020. The weapons are there for him to be quite productive this season. Fantasy GMs are taking him off the board at QB11 (8.09) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Updating a previous report, Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Blaine Gabbert's contract was finalized Friday, April 3, by the NFL. Official terms of the deal were not disclosed.
