Free-agent WR Isaiah Ford (Patriots) is expected to join the practice squad of the Miami Dolphins soon, according to a source.
Footballguys view: Ford was traded by the Dolphins to the Patriots in early November but he never played a snap for New England. Now, Ford is back with the Dolphins and could get some work as a slot option for their passing game. |

New England Patriots WR Isaiah Ford passed COVID-19 protocols Tuesday, Nov. 10, and will be able to practice Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Footballguys view: The Patriots acquired Ford from the Dolphins in exchange for a conditional 2022 sixth-round pick last week. Ford is a strong slot receiver who could work his way into the mix and become a second-favorite target for QB Cam Newton (behind Jakobi Meyers). |

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins WR Isaiah Ford was traded to the New England Patriots for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Footballguys view: The Patriots need a ton of help at the position, so the move for Ford makes some sense. Ford is a slot receiver and could provide deep flex value for Fantasy GMs if he works out with the Patriots. |

Updating a previous report, Miami Dolphins WR Isaiah Ford was traded to the New England Patriots for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Footballguys view: The Dolphins had other receivers to get involved going forward, and that's why Ford was expendable to a divisional foe. Malcolm Perry, Lynn Bowden Jr. and Antonio Callaway could get more work with Ford shipped to New England. |

Miami Dolphins WR Chester Rogers is considered the leading candidate for the slot receiver job but will have to compete with at least WR Isaiah Ford and WR Gary Jennings for the job.
Footballguys view: Rogers has experience at the position and is a good option at the slot when healthy. Do not forget about Jakeem Grant in this competition either as he might be the best of the bunch behind DeVante Parker and Preston Williams. |

Miami Dolphins WRs Allen Hurns, Gary Jennings and Isaiah Ford will be among the receivers to compete for one or two spots on the final roster.
Footballguys view: The Dolphins have DeVante Parker, Preston Williams and Albert Wilson as their top three wide receivers. Behind them, Jakeem Grant should make the team due to his ability as a return man. That leaves one or two spots open for Hurns, Jennings or Ford. Jennings is learning multiple positions this offseason and certainly has the most upside of the three. Hurns is the seasoned veteran who is good for about 20 catches a year. Ford was thrust into a larger role over the last month of the 2019 season and finished with 21 catches over that four-game stretch. We'll see if that momentum helps him win a spot on the 53-man roster this year. |

Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 28-of-41 passes for 320 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions while running for 15 yards and a score in a stunning Week 17 road upset of the New England Patriots. RB Patrick Laird was the leading rusher with just 21 yards on 11 carries, while WR DeVante Parker led the way with a game-high 137 receiving yards on eight catches for 11 targets. WR Isaiah Ford managed seven grabs for 54 yards on nine targets, WR Albert Wilson was good for five catches for 59 yards on eight targets and TE Mike Gesicki posted a touchdown while totaling 34 yards on four receptions. CB Eric Rowe also had a 35-yard interception for touchdown.
Footballguys view: Fitzpatrick created fantasy value in the most improbable place this year, and helped both Parker and Gesicki arrive in fantasy leagues. The Dolphins 2020 quarterback situation is up in the air, but both Parker and Gesicki will be drafted and Parker could be as high as a WR2 after this performance against Stephon Gilmore punctuated his breakout season. |

Miami Dolphins WR Isaiah Ford has consistently worked with the starters and had a strong week of practice. He's expected to play with the starters in the second preseason game.
Footballguys view: Ford was a Matt Waldman favorite and the regime change in Miami gives him an opening to make the team. It sounds like he is taking advantage of it. |

Miami Dolphins WR Preston Williams, an undrafted rookie, will compete with WRs Brice Butler, Isaiah Ford, Trenton Irwin and Reece Horn for the fifth and sixth receiver spots. Williams has been working out with WR Brandon Marshall.
Footballguys view: Williams is a talented player who largely went undrafted due to character concerns. If he keeps his focus on the field, Williams could earn a spot on the 53-man roster...or at the very least a practice squad. During his college career at Colorado State (Tennessee transfer), Williams showed dominance with his 6'4" 200 pound frame. He can win contested catches with his size and does a good job of making difficult catches seem routine. Williams needs polish as a route runner and more attention to detail if he wants to make it big in the pros. We'll monitor him in deep dynasty formats. |

Footballguys view: Carroo was considered a possible Patriots claim with his Rutgers background, but ended up back in the Dolphins organization. Ford, a Matt Waldman favorite, was a summer star after getting hurt last year and he could still end up part of the active roster in the future. |

Miami Dolphins WR Isaiah Ford (shoulder) has been limited during training camp because of a shoulder injury.
Footballguys view: A seventh-round pick out of Virginia Tech in the 2017 NFL draft, Ford missed his entire rookie season due to a knee injury. Early reports indicate he's been impressive in camp so hopefully this shoulder injury doesn't keep him limited for long. Keep an eye on him in dynasty formats. |

Miami Dolphins WR Isaiah Ford (undisclosed) wore a no-contact jersey for the third straight practice Monday, July 30.

Footballguys view: We weren't really counting on Ford to have a big rookie season, but this looks like it will keep him from even producing OK numbers for a rookie. he wasn't seeing much interest in early drafts and we can expect that to continue. |
