Kent Babb, of The Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Devard Darling (undisclosed) and CB Brandon Flowers (undisclosed) were injured Saturday, Aug. 29.
Footballguys view: Devard Darling could have a knee injury, and that would drastically reduce his chances of making the final roster. |

CBSSports.com reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Devard Darling (leg) suffered a left leg injury during the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 29.
Footballguys view: The Chiefs were already dissatisfied enough with their receivers to start Darling. If he is sidelined for any amount of time, they could be looking for even more help from the other 31 teams cuts at wide receiver. |

Adam Teicher, of the Kansas City Star, reports that Chiefs WRs Dwayne Bowe and Devard Darling are currently the team's first-team receivers.
Footballguys view: Bowe has worked his way out of Todd Haley's doghouse. Darling has been holding off Mark Bradley, who hasn't stood out in August. Veterans Bobby Engram and Amani Toomer will likely play large enough roles that Darling won't have significant fantasy value even if he does remain a starter when the season opens. |

KCChiefs.com posted the Chiefs first depth chart of the preseason and there were quite a few surprises at the WR position. Terrance Copper and Devard Darling were listed on the first-team. Mark Bradley and Amani Toomer were listed on the second-team. Bobby Engram and Dwayne Bowe were listed on the third-team.
Footballguys view: We know new head coach Todd Haley is trying to set a tone here, but this is a bit much. At the start of the regular season we should see Bowe and Bradley as starters with Toomer or Engram playing in the slot. Darling has been getting good press in training camp, so he could be a surprise player when all is said and done. |

CBSSports.com reports Kansas City Chiefs WR Devard Darling is running with the No. 1 offense during practice Sunday, Aug. 2.
Footballguys view: Dwayne Bowe is locked in as a starter and veteran Bobby Engram is best used from the slot, so the #2 in KC may come down to Mark Bradley or Devard Darling. Darling had a couple of good plays last season and if Bradley struggles with injury he may get the starting nod by default. |
