Cardinals | Michael Crabtree cut    Mon Sep 23, 05:26 PM

Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Crabtree was released Monday, Sept. 23.

Footballguys view: Crabtree didn't do much in his brief time with the team. He played 32 snaps, was only targeted five times and caught four passes for 22 yards. The Cardinals move forward with Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk as their top wide receivers. Damiere Byrd is the team's No. 3 receiver and has played 206 snaps in three games this season. Rookies Keesean Johnson and Andy Isabella will compete for snaps too.

Cardinals | Michael Crabtree lands 1-year deal    Thu Aug 22, 12:50 PM

Updating a previous report, Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Crabtree has agreed to a one-year, $3.25 million contract with an additional $2.25 million in incentives.

Footballguys view: Crabtree's contract is sizable enough to look at him as a clear top 4-5 receiver on the team who could get the third most snaps and targets on the team.

Cardinals | Michael Crabtree agrees to terms    Thu Aug 22, 12:06 AM

The Arizona Cardinals signed free-agent WR Michael Crabtree (Ravens) to a one-year contract on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

Footballguys view: Crabtree could have some fringe PPR value due to his familiarity with the system and the Cardinals likely play volume and lack of experience behind their top two receivers, but he's only a waiver wire watch list name right now.

Cardinals | Michael Crabtree doesn't sign with Cards    Tue Aug 6, 08:15 AM

Updating a previous report, free-agent WR Michael Crabtree (Ravens) was unable to agree to terms with the Arizona Cardinals and left without signing.

Footballguys view: Crabtree might be overplaying his hand as the two sides were unable to agree about money. If another team has a key injury at wide receiver or otherwise sours on their current group, he'll have more leverage, but this could also be the only offer he gets this month.

Cardinals | Arizona adds Michael Crabtree    Mon Aug 5, 07:28 PM

Free-agent WR Michael Crabtree (Ravens) signed with the Arizona Cardinals Monday, Aug. 5, according to a source. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: It's an ...interesting move for the Cardinals. Crabtree should know the Texas Tech concepts that Kliff Kingsbury is bringing to the NFL this year as both of them were Red Raiders in college. Now 32-years old, Crabtree may not have much left in the tank and is not a lock for the 53-man roster. The Cardinals have Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk at the top of the depth chart. Crabtree will compete with the rookie trio of KeeSean Johnson, Hakeem Butler and Andy Isabella to establish a pecking order.

Ravens | Michael Crabtree officially let go    Mon Feb 25, 05:35 PM

Updating a previous report, Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Crabtree's release was made official Monday, Feb. 25, saving the Ravens $4.6 million in salary cap space.

Footballguys view: This was an expected move. Crabtree was set for a $2 million bonus next month and was on the books for $7 million in 2019. The veteran receiver is not the same player he used to be but he should have some interest on the open market.

Ravens | Baltimore to part ways with Michael Crabtree?    Tue Jan 22, 11:42 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Crabtree is likely to be released in the offseason, according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec.

Footballguys view: Crabtree is currently signed through the 2020 season. He's got a cap hit of $9.3 million in 2019 with $4.6 million remaining in dead money. The Ravens might take that hit just to move on from the veteran receiver.

Baltimore Ravens S Tony Jefferson (ankle), OL Alex Lewis (shoulder), CB Jimmy Smith (not injury related) and LB Terrell Suggs (not injury related) did not practice Friday, Dec. 7. Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Crabtree caught three passes for 21 yards and one touchdown against the Oakland Raiders in Week 12.

Footballguys view: Crabtree could be a viable desperation play next week because of the Falcons matchup, he did score, and Lamar Jackson looked better as a passer, but the floor and ceiling are both low going forward. He's not an essential hold.

Ravens | Michael Crabtree seeing action in red zone    Tue Jul 31, 12:26 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Crabtree has been 'a popular target' for Joe Flacco in red zone drill this summer, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley.

Footballguys view: Crabtree has a great catch radius and he is effective in close quarters on contested balls. He is as good a bet as any to lead the team in receiving touchdowns this year. Flacco did well with a similar receiver in Anquan Boldin, although they didn't click as a red zone combo.

Ravens | Michael Crabtree brings experience    Fri Jul 6, 11:17 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Crabtree's 579 career receptions are more than the rest of Baltimore's receivers combined, and Crabtree's eight touchdown receptions last year were just three fewer than all of Baltimore's receivers combined.

Footballguys view: Even though Crabtree had a poor 2017 due to injury, he still has plenty of ability, not the least of which is his route running, a nice addition to the Raven's offense. His ADP of 26th receiver overall sounds about right and we do feel he could end up producing more than that.

Ravens | Joe Flacco talks up Michael Crabtree    Fri May 25, 01:38 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Crabtree was called 'the guy' by QB Joe Flacco when the latter was asked about chemistry with his new receivers following an OTA session on Thursday, May 24.

Footballguys view: The Ravens overhauled their WR corps this offseason, and Crabtree was the biggest 'get' for them at the position. He's a quarterback's best friend as Crabtree can run drag routes to get open and still has the ability to be dangerous after the catch. Expect Crabtree to be a security-blanket target for Flacco in 2018. His current ADP is WR26 (5.12) in 12-team PPR leagues.

Ravens | Michael Crabtree receives support    Sun Mar 18, 09:17 PM

Baltimore Ravens WR Michael Crabtree will be 'a reliable receiver' for QB Joe Flacco, according to retired WR Anquan Boldin. 'I had a chance to play with Crab for two or three years out in San Francisco,' Boldin said. 'Like I said, competitive guy, he's a crafty guy, a veteran guy, a guy that can really catch the ball.'

Footballguys view: Crabtree can perform for Flacco in a similar manner to what Boldin used to do in his days with the Ravens. We can see Crabtree racking up a lot of yards off those drag routes he's famous for. Crabtree's nose for the end zone should help him produce like an upside WR2 for fantasy owners.
