Rams | Robert Quinn within reach of team record    Wed Dec 11, 03:38 AM

St. Louis Rams DE Robert Quinn has been held out of the sack column for the past two weeks, but still leads the NFC with 13 sacks on the season. With a pair of three-sack games to his credit this year, Quinn remains in reach of Kevin Carter's 17 sacks in 1999, which remains the most since the franchise moved to St. Louis in 1995.

Patriots | Carter considering joining team    Wed Aug 5, 04:53 PM

Karen Guregian, of the Boston Herald, reports unrestricted free-agent DE Kevin Carter (Buccaneers) is considering signing with the New England Patriots, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Carter liked what he saw yesterday when he visited the Patriots facility. Now he's at home in Tampa deciding if he'd like to play in New England.   Lions | Plenty of time left to pursue Carter    Tue Jun 23, 07:44 PM

Tom Kowalski, of mlive.com, reports that there's a chance the Lions could sign DE Kevin Carter, but that Carter won't sign until after two-a-days are almost over because he's a 14 year veteran.

Footballguys view: Kowalski also pointed out that the Lions need some more heft at defensive end, and we agree. Cliff Avril is already a pass rushing sensation entering his second year, and we think he's likely to start at RDE, but he played at 255 last year and is not stout against the run.

Footballguys view: "I think he has earned the right to wait and enjoy the summer with his family," Carter's agent, Harold Lewis, wrote Tuesday in an e-mail. "Now, if an offer was made that we can't resist, then I'm sure we would make it sooner."
