Updating previous stories, Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell signed a six-year contract Wednesday, Jan. 20, according to a source. Financial terms weren't disclosed.

| Footballguys view: It's finally officially official. This move was anticipated for quite some time, and now it's coming to fruition. Campbell was the right-hand man for Sean Payton with the Saints over the last five years. We'll see what direction he takes the team in and if that includes QB Matthew Stafford in 2021. Campbell is known as a players coach and was the top target for the Lions. They just had to wait for the Saints to be eliminated from the playoffs to make this hire official. |
