Cowboys | Dallas likely to bring back Martavis Bryant    Wed Jan 17, 03:21 AM

Free-agent WR Martavis Bryant (Cowboys) is expected to sign a Reserve/Future contract with the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, Jan. 17.

Footballguys view: Bryant signed with the Cowboys last November, but he failed to get activated on the 53-man roster. They did release him a couple of weeks ago, but now he should be back on a reserve/future contract. He's still big and fast, so in super crazy deep dynasty formats we'll keep an eye on him.

Titans | Martavis Bryant to meet with Titans    Tue Nov 7, 11:46 AM

Free-agent WR Martavis Bryant (Raiders) will work out for the Tennessee Titans if he leaves his workout with the Dallas Cowboys unsigned.

Footballguys view: Bryant has been making the rounds since he was reinstated by the league. He hasn't played in the NFL since 2018, and Bryant was indefinitely suspended back in 2020. Now, he's clear to play and garnering a bit of interest out there. He's big, fast, and physical as a receiver but who knows what he has left in the tank if he gets back on an NFL field.

NFL | Martavis Bryant reinstated    Sat Nov 4, 11:42 AM

Free-agent WR Martavis Bryant (XFL) has been reinstated by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and has drawn interest from multiple teams, according to agent James Peterson.

Footballguys view: On indefinite suspension since 2020, Bryant should get interest now that he's allowed to play in the NFL again. He has not played in the NFL since 2018 and spent last summer in the XFL. Bryant is a big-bodied receiver with a nose for the end zone. In this league, that's going to garner some attention.

NFL | Martavis Bryant heads to CFL    Tue Jan 26, 03:06 AM

Free-agent WR Martavis Bryant (Raiders) signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League Monday, Jan. 25.

Footballguys view: Bryant has not played since 2018 as the NFL has indefinitely suspended him. He applied for reinstatement in 2019 but now finds himself making a trip up North to keep playing. Perhaps if he performs well in Canada then he could get back to the NFL. It's more likely that his playing days in the NFL are done.

NFL | Martavis Bryant not ready to play    Sat Jul 25, 05:42 PM

Free-agent WR Martavis Bryant (Raiders) is receiving interest from several teams, but he still has not applied for reinstatement at this point.

Footballguys view: Bryant hopes to play at some point but still needs to do more work. It sounds like Bryant may not play in 2020 but could be aiming for a return in 2021. Bryant will be 28-years old next offseason but it sounds like some teams could still have interest.

NFL | Maratvis Bryant seeks reinstatement    Mon Jul 15, 06:45 PM

Free-agent WR Martavis Bryant (Raiders) has applied to the NFL for reinstatement. He has been working with the NFL and the NFL Players Association to address his mental health issues.

Footballguys view: Bryant was most recently suspended in December for violating a policy from a previous ban. He has been suspended three times in the past four years for violations of the league's substance abuse policy. If healthy and on the right track, Bryant can still be a deep threat in the league. It's unknown if or when Bryant would actually be reinstated.

Raiders | Martavis Bryant could return by camp    Thu Feb 7, 05:17 PM

Oakland Raiders WR Martavis Bryant is suspended indefinitely but could return by training camp if he follows his treatment plans and does not have any setbacks.

Footballguys view: There may be a move to reinstate Bryant sometime around May...provided he has no more issues that would further his suspension. He appeared in only eight games this year for the Raiders, snaring only 19 passes for 266 yards and zero touchdowns.

Raiders | Martavis Bryant out a couple weeks    Wed Nov 14, 03:35 PM

Oakland Raiders WR Martavis Bryant (knee) will miss a couple of weeks and could be out longer after injuring his posterior cruciate ligament last week, according to head coach Jon Gruden.

Footballguys view: The Raiders are going to be pretty shorthanded with Bryant missing at least a couple of weeks. They traded away Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson is battling an injury at this time (knee, questionable) so they may have to use Brandon LaFell and Seth Roberts more than ever.

Raiders | Oakland talking up Martavis Bryant     Fri Oct 26, 12:12 PM

Oakland Raiders WR Martavis Bryant is expected to be a bigger part of the offense following the trade of Amari Cooper to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, Oct. 22.'I think it helps a player like Martavis Bryant because he's got tremendous skills, tremendous size and speed, and he's still really kind of learning the system. I think he's such an explosive player. ... I think it will help them more he's in the system, the more he's here and is able to sit around and stay with one system,' offensive coordinator Greg Olson said.

Footballguys view: Bryant gets high value deep targets and the Raiders will likely be playing from behind and passing more than running in the second half of the season, but he's still only bench depth unless he and Derek Carr heat up.

Raiders | Martavis Bryant has coach's confidence    Thu Sep 13, 11:08 AM

Oakland Raiders WR Martavis Bryant has the confidence of head coach Jon Gruden after re-signing with the team Tuesday, Sept. 11. 'He's a guy who has proven he can go up and get the deep ball in contested situations,' Gruden said of Bryant. 'He can run away from you. He can make you miss. He can make big plays down the field. We're hoping we can bottle up where he is now. He's in a great place. He has a great state of mind. We'll see what happens.'

Footballguys view: Bryant still faces potential sanctions from the NFL but for this week, he's active. That said, this is a bad matchup against the Denver Broncos and last week didn't make us feel good about this passing offense anyway. We'd avoid Bryant this week.

Footballguys view: It was just 10 days ago that Bryant was let go by the Raiders...and now he's back. That's what happens when Derek Carr clearly needs some help at the position. Bryant is still facing a possible year-long suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Free-agent WR Martavis Bryant (Raiders) could be back with the Oakland Raiders next year, according to head coach Jon Gruden. 'Perhaps we'll get Martavis again next year and get the best out of him,' Gruden said.

Footballguys view: The Raiders gave up the no.79 overall pick for Bryant in the 2018 NFL draft and he couldn't make it through to the final roster.   Raiders | Martavis Bryant not grasping playbook    Wed Aug 8, 02:11 PM

Oakland Raiders WR Martavis Bryant is struggling to learn the playbook so far in training camp, according to offensive coordinator Greg Olson. The Raiders are trying to simplify Bryant's learning process so they can get him on the field more.

Footballguys view: Bryant is a superfreak athlete who can take the top off the defense. Things shouldn't really be that complicated for him as he usually wins with physical traits (size, speed, athleticism) and not savvy route running. That being said, Bryant needs to pick up the playbook better if he wants to contribute at a high level.

Footballguys view: The best ability is availability and Bryant just hasn't been for much of his career. If he's on the field he could be a nice pairing with Amani Cooper, but he cannot afford to make any mistakes off the field. And the Raiders can't afford for him to make them either.
