The Oakland Raiders might consider free-agent TE Anthony Fasano (Dolphins) or former Raiders TE and free-agent TE Kevin Boss (Chiefs).
Footballguys view: The Raiders could lose Brandon Myers in free agency. Those 79 receptions Myers had in 2012 will have to go elsewhere in 2013. |

The Kansas City Chiefs released TE Kevin Boss and WR Steve Breaston Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Footballguys view: The Chiefs just clearing up some cap space here. The team clears up $1.3MM by releasing Boss, and $2MM by parting ways with Breaston. Both veterans should be able to find a home somewhere else in 2013. The Steelers could be interested in Breaston as he would be reunited with Todd Haley. Breaston played under Haley in both Kansas City and Arizona. |

Kansas City Chiefs TEs Tony Moeaki and Kevin Boss are expected to receive a lot of playing time this season. The team may use two-tight end sets often during the season.
Footballguys view: Getting Moeaki back is a huge boost for the Chiefs passing game. He's a quality move TE with the speed to attack the deep middle seam of the defense. However, Moeaki has an extensive injury history dating back to his days in college. If he can stay healthy this year he could perform like a top 12 fantasy TE. |

Kansas City Chiefs TE Kevin Boss said he has moved on to greener pastures after joining the team from the Oakland Raiders. 'I was in Oakland for such a short period of time that it wasn't really something where I really understood the whole Chiefs-Raiders rivalry,' Boss said. 'I just know now that I'm on the better side of the rivalry ... It's been a great transition and it's really been a blessing in disguise to have been moved on to greener pastures.'
Footballguys view: In defense of the Raiders organization, the death of owner Al Davis and sudden shift in the power structure made an already dysfunctional organization even more unstable. GM Reggie McKenzie and head coach Dennis Allen seem to have things on track this year. |

Kansas City Chiefs TE Kevin Boss said he is excited to join the team and work with fellow TE Tony Moeaki. 'I think it will be fun to play with him. Maybe the success that the Patriots have had with a couple of their tight ends, I think that's something we can do here,' Boss said. While Boss may like to see he and Moeaki approach numbers the Patriots' tight ends posted last year, the Chiefs won't be asking for that out of their pair. The Chiefs are trying to build more around their running game. Boss said he spoke with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and was sold on what the Chiefs are doing. 'I'm comfortable doing a lot of different things. I played a lot of different roles with New York and with Oakland,' Boss added.
Footballguys view: Boss could be in for a bigger role than some think. Chiefs OC Brian Daboll worked well with 2 TE sets in Cleveland and could do the same thing with Tony Moeaki and Boss. |

The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to terms with free-agent TE Kevin Boss (Raiders) on a three-year deal worth $9 million.
Footballguys view: Boss gets to stay in the AFC West and will now serve as the primary backup behind Tony Moeaki. Chiefs OC Brian Daboll worked well with two TE sets in Cleveland and should be able to involve Boss more than some think. Fantasy owners also need to remember Moeaki's extensive injury history. |

Free-agent TE Kevin Boss (Raiders) is expected to take his first visit with the Kansas City Chiefs, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. Boss was cut by the Oakland Raiders Wednesday, March 14.
Footballguys view: The Chiefs missed out on signing John Carlson as the Vikings took him off the market on Wednesday. They need a quality TE behind second-year starter Tony Moeaki. |

The New York Giants may have interest in Oakland Raiders TE Kevin Boss once he is released by the Raiders.
Footballguys view: We could easily see the Giants bringing Boss back to New York City. Their TE position was decimated by injury in the Super Bowl and it's certainly a position they need to address in the draft or free agency. |

The Oakland Raiders will release TE Kevin Boss.
Footballguys view: We think the Giants could have interest in bringing Boss back to the Big Apple. The team has a big need at the position after both Jake Ballard (knee) and Travis Beckum (knee) are expected to begin next season on the PUP list. |

Oakland Raiders WRs Chaz Schilens and Louis Murphy could start in Week 12 against the Chicago Bears with WRs Denarius Moore (foot), Jacoby Ford (foot) and Darrius Heyward-Bey (neck) hobbled. TE Kevin Boss could also become more of a factor in the game.
Footballguys view: The Raiders WR corps looks like the waiting area in an Emergency Room. Losing weapons like Moore, Ford, and Heyward-Bey to injury will limit what QB Carson Palmer does in the passing game. |

Oakland Raiders TE Kevin Boss said he was surprised he did not see any time on offense in Week 9 and only playing on special teams. Head coach Hue Jackson said Boss was not used because the team played more sets with three wide receivers and two running backs during the game.

Oakland Raiders WR Darrius Heyward-Bey went without a reception in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos, but head coach Hue Jackson said after the game that Heyward-Bey was not benched. Jackson said the limited playing time was due to specific 'sets' the team was running. The same reason applied to TE Kevin Boss and his lack of opportunities.
Footballguys view: Heyward-Bey is still not as prominent in the passing attack, and that's the bottom line for fantasy. He might be droppable if this keeps up on Thursday vs. San Diego. |

Oakland Raiders TE Kevin Boss (concussion), S Matt Giordano (neck), DL John Henderson (back), RB Marcel Reece (ankle), C Samson Satele (knee) and WR Chaz Schilens (groin) are listed as probable for Week 9. Henderson and Satele were limited in practice Friday, Nov. 4, while the others practiced in full.
Footballguys view: Boss could be a sneaky TE play if you're desperate at the position. The Broncos LBs struggle in coverage and Oakland could take advantage of that. |

Johnson (hamstring), CB Chimdi Chekwa (hamstring), PK Sebastian Janikowski (hamstring), DL Richard Seymour (rest) and TE Kevin Boss (concussion). McClain shed his protective boot Wednesday.
Footballguys view: Not a surprise here. The Raiders have a bye this week and will get McFadden as much rest as he possibly needs. His playing status against the Broncos in week 9 is uncertain at this moment. |

Oakland Raiders TE Kevin Boss had four catches for 78 yards in Week 4 against the New England Patriots. Boss was more involved in the offense after making his regular season debut last weekend.
Footballguys view: Boss was finding a lot of room to roam in the middle of the field, but this is about his ceiling, so he is only an add for teams desperate for TE help. |
