Lions | Bollinger signed    Tue Sep 1, 02:20 PM

Tim Twentyman, of The Detroit News, reports the Detroit Lions have signed free-agent QB Brooks Bollinger (Cowboys). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Footballguys view: If Bollinger impresses in practice he could stick around as the third QB in Detroit, as Drew Stanton is injured.

Lions | Work out three QBs Tuesday    Tue Jul 28, 05:48 PM

Tom Kowalski, of, reports the Detroit Lions worked out unrestricted free-agent QBs Cleo Lemon (Jaguars), Craig Nall (Texans) and Brooks Bollinger (Cowboys) Tuesday, July 28, according to a league source.

Footballguys view: The Lions must be looking for camp arms here. None of the players listed could really be considered a threat to third string QB Drew Stanton's job.

UFL | Bollinger considering joining league    Wed Jul 22, 02:15 AM

Judd Zulgad, of The Minneapolis Star Tribune, reports free-agent QB Brooks Bollinger (Cowboys) is considering joining the UFL. He was selected by the Orlando franchise last month and is giving consideration to playing in the four-team league. Bollinger said he has spoken with Orlando head coach Jim Haslett and is leaving his options open. Bollinger added he has spoken with a couple of NFL franchises, but admits the thought of bouncing around the league gets more difficult as he becomes older.

Footballguys view: Bollinger cited the two-week training camp and eight-week season as one of the main reasons he is looking into the league, because he has two kids. We like the idea of the UFL serving as a minor league for the NFL, keeping players fresh and ready for action when the NFL calls during the regular season.

NFL | Several former NFL players picked in UFL draft    Thu Jun 18, 07:20 PM

The United Football League reported on their Twitter page that former NFL QB Brooks Bollinger (Cowboys), RB LaBrandon Toefield (Jaguars), RB Tyson Thompson (Cowboys), TE Jermaine Wiggins (Jaguars) and LB Gary Stills (Rams) were selected in the UFL Draft Thursday, June 18.

Footballguys view: There will be a Tommy Maddox-like story to come out of the UFL, but none of the players on this list really stand out.
