Redskins | Brandon Banks to handle return chores    Mon Sep 3, 09:18 PM

Washington Redskins WR Brandon Banks will serve as the team's top kick and punt returner heading into Week 1 against the New Orleans Saints. TE Niles Paul is listed as the backup on kickoffs, while WR Santana Moss is the backup on punts.

Footballguys view: Banks is small but packs a punch as a return man. He can change direction quickly and has good burst in and out of his breaks. Banks isn't much of a fantasy factor as he'll get little work as a receiver.

Redskins | Robert Griffin to work out with receivers    Thu Jun 28, 07:46 PM

Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III said several of his receivers will be working out with him in Waco in the next few weeks. Griffin mentioned WRs Santana Moss, Pierre Garcon, Anthony Armstrong, Aldrick Robinson and Brandon Banks and TE Fred Davis among the players that will be taking part in the workouts.

Footballguys view: Fantasy owners should be warming up to RG3's prospects this year if they go with a QBBC approach. Griffin can be added in the mid 8th round and could end up being a near weekly starter. We like his fantasy prospects this year better than fellow rookie Andrew Luck as the Redskins have better weapons around Griffin.

Redskins | Brandon Banks informed he must contribute at WR    Thu Jun 14, 01:31 AM

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan informed WR Brandon Banks Wednesday, June 13, that he must contribute at the wide receiver position if he wants to make the roster. Banks is taking part in workouts 10 pounds heavier than last season. 'I called him in early and I told him that he was going to have to help us at the wide receiver position as well if he wanted to make this football team,' Shanahan said. 'And he accepted the challenge and came in in excellent shape, and it's really positive what he's done.' Banks was a standout return man last season.

Footballguys view: The Redskins will have some fierce battles for the last one or two (if they carry six) wide receivers, which could leave Banks on the outside looking in.

Redskins | WR Robinson anxious to show off speed    Tue May 8, 03:15 PM

John Keim, from the Washington Examiner, reports second-year WR Aldrick Robinson is anxious to show off his speed in training camp this year. "That's my main attribute. That's the one thing that puts me above others, now that I know the offense and I'm comfortable with it I can show my speed, get in and out of breaks and catch the ball." Robinson said.

Footballguys view: Robinson is going to have to standout as a Kick/Punt Returner as the Redskins WR corps is jam packed. He'll compete with guys like Terrence Austin and Brandon Banks for the final spot at the WR position.
