Seahawks | Doug Baldwin let go    Thu May 9, 04:20 PM

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hernia, knee, shoulder) was released with a failed physical designation Thursday, May 9.

Footballguys view: Baldwin should be retiring in the near future. The Seahawks were ready for this move and that's why they selected three wide receivers in the 2019 NFL draft. Without Baldwin, the Seahawks no.1 wide receiver becomes Tyler Lockett. The rest will have to compete in training camp to establish a pecking order.

Seahawks | Seattle won't rush Doug Baldwin    Fri May 3, 02:51 AM

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hernia, knee, shoulder) will be given time to make a decision about his future in the wake of another surgery; head coach Pete Carroll said Baldwin was 'working through it,' and had earned that right.

Footballguys view: Baldwin is likely going to retire. The Seahawks added three wide receivers in the 2019 NFL draft so clearly they're planning on moving on without him. There are some signing bonus ramifications if Baldwin retires, so he might just wait for the team to release him.

Seahawks | No news expected soon on Doug Baldwin    Mon Apr 29, 03:55 PM

Updating a previous report, Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hernia, knee, shoulder) may not be able to play in the NFL again because of his multiple injuries, but NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported Monday, April 29, that a retirement announcement should not be expected 'anytime soon' due to salary cap reasons. However, Garafolo believes the 'likelihood' is still that Baldwin will not play again.

Footballguys view: Baldwin's injuries have caught up to him. The Seahawks selected three wide receivers in the 2019 NFL draft likely anticipating that Baldwin would retire.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin may not be able to play again    Fri Apr 26, 10:55 PM

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hernia, knee, shoulder) may not be able to play in the NFL again because of his multiple injuries, according to sources. It is believed that Baldwin wants to continue playing but may not be able.

Footballguys view: The Seahawks got DK Metcalf, but they can't really replace the chemistry Baldwin has with Russell Wilson. Tyler Lockett will be very important in the offense as the most productive returning receiver if Baldwin retires.

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hernia, knee, shoulder) is recovering from multiple surgeries, and there is no timetable for his return, according to general manager John Schneider.

Footballguys view: Baldwin should be ready to go some time near training camp. His injury situation clouds his fantasy value but certainly the veteran can be a favorite target for QB Russell Wilson when healthy.

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hernia) is set to undergo sports hernia surgery in April, and head coach Pete Carroll recently told reporters he doesn't know 'conclusively' if that surgery will be the last one Baldwin has this offseason.   Seahawks | More surgery for Doug Baldwin    Wed Mar 20, 03:27 PM

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hernia) said he will have more surgeries this offseason to fix what is believed to be a sports hernia. Surgery is scheduled for early April, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Baldwin's production was held back by multiple nagging injuries in 2018. Seahawks coach Pete Carroll revealed Baldwin underwent knee and shoulder surgeries after the season. This makes another surgery for the veteran receiver. He'll miss all of the offseason work for the Seahawks and should be eased into training camp at some point in the summer.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin expected back    Mon Jan 7, 07:48 PM

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin likely will be back with the Seahawks next season even though he dealt with multiple injuries in 2018.

Footballguys view: Baldwin is under contract through the 2020 season. He's got great chemistry with QB Russell Wilson and just needs to stay healthy to produce. In 13 games this season, Baldwin had his lowest catch total (50) since 2013. If healthy, Baldwin is a key starter for Seattle and a WR2 with upside for Fantasy GMs.

Footballguys view: Baldwin has been shaping up to be a game-time decision all week long. Fantasy GMs should have made other choices at the WR position. If you're backed into a corner on Monday night, then perhaps someone like Jaron Brown is out there.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin questionable    Sat Dec 8, 06:25 PM

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hip) did not practice Saturday, Dec. 8, and is a game-time decision for Week 14, according to head coach Pete Carroll.

Footballguys view: Carroll's comments were not encouraging. If you have David Moore, Jaron Brown, or Aldrick Robinson, you might be able to risk Baldwin being inactive, but if you don't have a Monday night hedge, it's probably better to bench him.

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (hip) did not participate in practice Friday, Dec. 7.

Footballguys view: Baldwin has been missing practices with a variety of ailments this year, but he has been playing near or at healthy form despite the absences. He's still only a low floor/low ceiling WR3/Flex but he should get one of the better matchups in the Vikings secondary on Monday.

The Seattle Seahawks believe WR Doug Baldwin (groin) has a chance to play in Week 12's game against the Carolina Panthers but he will test his injured groin in pregame warmups, according to a source.

Footballguys view: Baldwin is still very risky even if active. Last week, Sammy Watkins was active, but left after one catch. Baldwin has a terrific matchup, but might not be able to take advantage of it. Err on the side on benching him today.

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (groin) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 23, and is listed as questionable for Week 12.

Footballguys view: Baldwin is a true game-time decision, but he is playing in an early game. He'll be a boom/bust WR3/Flex if he does go, and if he doesn't, Tyler Lockett will be a lot more attractive against the suspect Panthers secondary.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin finally healthy    Sat Nov 17, 12:46 AM

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin (knee) said he 'finally' feels like himself after playing through a knee injury all season.

Footballguys view: Baldwin said before the Thursday night game that he was finally pain free. The veteran receiver snared 7 passes for 52 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' Week 11 win over the Packers. He's in line to produce like a flex option with upside with Seattle going as much ground-and-pound as they can on offense.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin scores first TD of 2018    Fri Nov 16, 12:52 AM

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin caught seven passes for 52 yards and a touchdown against the Green Bay Packers in Week 11.

Footballguys view: Baldwin was showing no ill effects from his early season knee woes and could have had two scores if Russell Wilson didn't airmail a ball early in the game after Baldwin got wide open in the end zone. He's back to being a strong WR3/Flex option heading to Carolina.

Seahawks | Doug Baldwin no longer in pain    Tue Nov 13, 10:36 PM

Seattle Seahawks WR Doug Baldwin told 710 ESPN Seattle on Tuesday, Nov. 13, the knee issues he's been battling all season improved to the point that he woke up without pain last week for the first time.

Footballguys view: Baldwin is starting to feel like his old self, and he could start playing at a higher level because of it. Over the last two games for Seattle, Baldwin has been targeted nine times combined and has nine catches. We'll see if those target numbers go up as he could have a resurgence here in the second half of the season.
