WR Mike Wallace

OutlookStatsGame logsSplitsPlay-by-playLatest news

Outlook: It took most of the season for Mike Wallace to live up to his contract, and even then he could be wildly inconsistent in both execution and effort. Some of the execution was on his quarterback, the equally inconsistent Ryan Tannehill, but some of it was Wallace. He was also an odd fit in Mike Sherman's offensive scheme an didn't do well stuck in one place on the field. New offensive coordinator Bill Lazor moves his guys all over the place which should allow him to matchup Wallace more advantageously. Ultimately Wallace isn't worth the money they paid him, but is a far better receiver than he looked like last year. While we expect him to be more consistent, we don't expect an explosion in production. Tannehill's success ties into Wallace's an it's a shaky slope. Still, we see Wallace as a WR3 with the potential to outproduce his drafting spot.

WR Kendall Wright

OutlookStatsGame logsSplitsPlay-by-playLatest news

Outlook: Kendall Wright broke out last season, but his fantasy impact was hampered by a lack of touchdowns. That was primarily a result of his usage in the end zone, Wright had just one end zone target on his first 121 targets last season. That target resulted in a touchdown against the Houston Texans. While his usage in the redzone moving forward is unclear, it appears that Wright will feature heavily in Ken Whisenhunt's offense. Whisenhunt's offenses consistently throw a lot to the slot receiver. What Wright did last season, 94 receptions for 1,079 yards and two touchdowns, should be the floor of his expectations entering next season.

WR Golden Tate

Outlook: Tate has never been a guy who lights it up. He helped the Seahawks make the playoffs last season, but Tate disappeared when Seattle needed him the most. Down the stretch, Tate posted five consecutive games with fewer than 10 fantasy points. In Detroit Tate won't be the top receiver but he could benefit from defenses giving full attention to Calvin Johnson in a pass happy offense. He has low-end WR2 upside, but could also end up being too inconsistent to keep in your lineup every week.

WR Sammy Watkins

OutlookStatsGame logsSplitsPlay-by-playLatest news

Outlook: According to the Buffalo News, head coach Doug Marrone will use Sammy Watkins in the slot and it looks like the plan is to get him on the field in every and any way. Watkins has the skill to line up wherever they want him to be and has the ability to stretch the field as a deep threat as well as kill teams for yardage after the catch. Two things can hold him back. First, the rookie learning curve which seems to limit almost every receiver during their first year. How much impact is always hard to say, as even for a talented guy like Watkins there are hiccups. The second is his quarterback EJ Manuel. Manuel struggled a lot last year, when he wasn't hurt. Word is he is much more comfortable with the plays this year, so hopefully it won't hurt Watkins at all. Despite the tremendous talent, we don't see him as more than a WR3 with upside for his rookie season. At 21 though, the sky is the limit for his career.
