Injury Expectations | Midweek Update | Week 1

A review of the early week practice participation reports

thurSDAY Media updates

***The peace and quiet of the Week 1 practice participation report didn't last long. Antonio Brown is unlikely to play after an incident with general manager Mike Mayock. Julio Jones hinted he wouldn't play without a contract extension and told reporters he was limited in practice with soreness. And Odell Beckham Jr revealed he was less than 100% with nagging hip soreness.

While Jones is likely to play and shouldn't be limited by his soreness, Beckham's interview raised concern. After telling reporters his hip condition was keeping him from going "full speed" and saying his "alignment was off," Beckham said he was confident in his ability to play effectively. The Browns and Beckham have not discussed the injury specifically. Beckham suggested there was no single injury event, noting only that he was "feeling weird" after practice earlier in the offseason and chose not to risk aggravation during training camp.
