As the summer rolls on, there will be a number of players who move up and down the ADP list. This movement can be caused by a variety of factors -- injuries, news, etc. This article will highlight some of the players who have seen significant movement over the last week and place them into one of three categories.
- Players on the Rise
- Players on the Decline
- Players to Note
Note: In the last week, Footballguys has changed its method for compiling ADP. That means a few of the numbers won't match up to what was reported last week. Still, we can track ADP changes, so let's take a closer look at some of the players on the move.
Players on the Rise
These players have moved up the ADP list in the last week. And there's a pretty good reason for that.
WR Tyreek Hill, Kansas City -- up 18 spots to 31 overall
We're still seeing the effect of the news of no suspension for Hill. Look for more of the same next week.
RB Jordan Howard, Philadelphia -- up 3 spots to 80 overall
Howard's rise is likely due to the lack of good news surrounding Miles Sanders. Support for Sanders doesn't seem to be waning, but people are beginning to understand that Howard will have a role.
WR Geronimo Allison, Green Bay -- up 8 spots to 117 overall
Allison is getting a lot of pub from local Packers writers. It's showing up on the draft boards.
QB Mitchell Trubisky, Chicago -- up 20 spots to 121 overall
A little bit of news can cause a lot of movement around QB20. Chicago beat writers recently called Trubisky a definite breakout player for 2019. That'll do it.
Players on the Decline
These players have moved down the ADP list in the last week. And there's a pretty good reason for that.
WR Sammy Watkins, Kansas City -- down 8 spots to 68 overall
He isn't falling as much as Hill is rising, but this movement is still due to the Hill news.
RB Carlos Hyde, Kansas City -- down 16 spots to 133 overall
People are starting to understand that Damien Williams has a stranglehold on the starting job. And Darwin Thompson is also getting some love.
TE Chris Herndon, NY Jets -- down 25 spots to 193 overall
Still feeling the effects of his longer-than-expected suspension.
Players to Note
These players have moved up or down. But there probably isn't a good reason for that.
WR Courtland Sutton, Denver -- up 3 spots to 99 overall
This time of year, the news is so slow that it's possible for a highlight-reel catch from training camp to give a player a pop.
RB Chris Thompson, Washington -- up 11 spots to 141 overall
Thompson hasn't done anything warrant upward movement -- other than not being hurt like Derrius Guice or super old like Adrian Peterson.
RB Damien Harris, New England -- down 20 spots to 149 overall
No real reason for this drop. And with Sony Michel starting camp on the PUP list, Harris' ADP is about to rocket up.
WR Parris Campbell, Indianapolis -- down 16 spots to 166 overall
Nothing notable regarding Campbell lately. People are probably just realizing that -- regardless of how elite Andrew Luck is -- Campbell is behind a litany of talent in Indianapolis.
WR Mohamed Sanu, Atlanta -- up 13 spots to 170 overall
This movement is likely due to the "This shiny new toy isn't so shiny" syndrome that hits rookies in late July. People realize that those young guys they fell in love with after the draft don't have jobs locked up. That causes guys like Sanu -- who does have a role on a great offense -- to move up.
