As the summer rolls on, there will be a number of players who move up and down the ADP list. This movement can be caused by a variety of factors -- injuries, news, etc. This article will highlight some of the players who have seen significant movement over the last week and place them into one of three categories.
- Players on the Rise
- Players on the Decline
- Players of Note
Players on the Rise
These players have moved up the ADP list in the last week. And there's a pretty good reason for that.
RB Nick Chubb, Cleveland - up 4 to 19 overall
This is simply because Duke Johnson Jr was traded away.
RB Chris Carson, Seattle - up 5 to 48 overall
Rashaad Penny is still around, but here has been nothing be great news surrounding Carson lately.
RB Austin Ekeler, LA Chargers - up 10 to 76 overall
Completely tied to Melvin Gordon's holdout. As that drags on, Ekeler's stock rises.
RB Miles Sanders, Philadelphia - up 8 to 77 overall
There are increasing reports that Sanders is outplaying Jordan Howard. And people love to find reasons to draft a rookie.
WR Curtis Samuel, Carolina - up 10 to 104 overall
Everyone is absolutely gushing about Samuel these days.
RB Carlos Hyde, Kansas City - up 15 to 125 overall
While some still think Hyde might not make the roster, he got a good amount of first-team reps and head coach Andy Reid has praised Hyde recently. At this stage of the draft, finding a potential starting running back is like striking oil. This rise might be short-lived, however, now that Damien Williams has returned to the practice field.
RB Matt Breida, San Francisco - up 23 to 131 overall
There is clearly something wrong with Jerick McKinnon, so it appears Brieda will have a big role for the 49ers.
RB Duke Johnson Jr, Houston - up 43 to 133 overall
When you get traded from a team you don't want to be on to a team with a big need at your position, people tend to pay immediate attention.
TD Dallas Cowboys - up 22 to 188 overall
You'll rarely see a team defense on this list, but this one should be noted. Dallas has accumulated a good amount of young talent. Led by linebacker Jaylon Smith, the reports on these youngsters have been very good lately.
RB Tony Pollard, Dallas - up 65 to 189 overall
From seemingly nowhere, Pollard rockets up draft boards for two reasons: 1. Ezekiel Elliott is still holding out, and 2: Pollard has looked really good.
WR Deebo Samuel, San Francisco - up 26 to 207 overall
He's still cheap on draft day, but Samuel has risen lately after a string of good reviews. This will likely continue in the next update.
Players on the Decline
These players have moved down the ADP list in the last week. And there's a pretty good reason for that.
RB Melvin Gordon, LA Chargers - down 3 to 22 overall
With another week of holding out, Gordon sinks a little more. This will continue as long as he's not with the team.
WR Antonio Brown, Oakland - down 5 to 23 overall
Brown finally came back to the team this week, but feet-gate and helmet-gate had already moved his ADP.
RB Damien Williams, Kansas City - down 5 to 30 overall
Worry has definitely set in with Williams. While he has gotten back to the practice field, the missed time -- combined with glowing words about the other backs -- caused this drop.
RB Phillip Lindsay, Denver - down 5 to 46 overall
Lindsay's news hasn't been bad, but the reports of Denver using a scheme more favorable to Royce Freeman have come in strong. People are beginning to believe Lindsay won't have enough opportunities to match 2018's success.
WR A.J. Green, Cincinnati - down 5 to 53 overall
It's certain that Green will miss regular-season action.
QB Andrew Luck, Indianapolis - down 5 to 54 overall
Luck hasn't been able to practice because of his calf. With this week's explosion of news and the worry that he seems questionable for Week 1, look for Luck to sink more in the next update.
RB Jordan Howard, Philadelphia - down 6 to 83 overall
With the reports of Howard being outplayed by the rookie Miles Sanders, people are moving away from the veteran.
RB Rashaad Penny, Seattle - down 4 to 85 overall
Many thought Penny could push past Chris Carson this season, but the camp reports indicate that won't happen without an injury to Carson.
WR Golden Tate, NY Giants - down 13 to 122 overall
With his suspension confirmed, Tate's drop continues.
WR NKeal Harry, New England - down 25 to 143 overall
Over most of the offseason, people expected the rookie to start next to Julian Edelman. Instead, Harry is being outplayed by Jakobi Meyers and appears to be behind Maurice Harris and Phillip Dorsett.
RB Jerick McKinnon, San Francisco - down 24 to 152 overall
People tend to drop players who receive platelet-rich plasma injections in August and might start the season on the Reserve/Injured list.
RB DOnta Foreman, Houston - down 50 to 185 overall
Fantasy players hoped Foreman would surpass Lamar Miller in Houston. Instead, Foreman was released and will find it tough to make the Colts' final roster. This drop is likely not over.
Players of Note
These players have moved up or down. But it's not because of much of anything relating to them. As ADP solidifies closer to the NFL season, there will be fewer of these types of players.
RB Kerryon Johnson, Detroit - up 4 to 26 overall
Not much new news on Johnson. He moved up because Damien Williams dropped and some people just can't get on board with Leonard Fournette this season.
QB Cam Newton, Carolina - down 6 spots to 86 overall
ADP at the quarterback position can be squirrely at times.
