Denver Broncos at Oakland Raiders Single Game Showdown Slate
This article is a new feature which will break down the single-game slates on DraftKings and FanDuel guiding you which players to play and where to play them.
STRATEGY- CAPTAIN AND MVP POSITIONS
FanDuel-
On FanDuel the pricing of the MVP is the same as if they are not in the MVP position. This limits the strategy as you really want to take the player that you believe is going to score the most points which is often your most expensive player or a player who has the most upside on your roster.
DraftKings-
On DraftKings, the strategy is a little bit more complex as the players are priced at 1.5x their flex position if you play them in the captain position. This creates an intriguing strategy as while the top priced player may score the most points, it often limits you on the rest of your build. Often times, putting in a player who can have a big day but not in the captain spot will allow you to build the rest of your roster with a higher point potential.
PLAYER OVERVIEW-
Case Keenum- $16,200 DraftKings Captain, $10,800 DraftKings Flex, $14,000 FanDuel
This slate is really opposites on how players are priced as Case Keenum is a much better play on FanDuel than DraftKings solely due to the price but needs to be in consideration on both sites. Keenum does bring some risk, but this is a Raiders team that has allowed the 8th most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks and have allowed 220 yards or more to every quarterback with the exception of Josh Rosen, Lamar Jackson, and Jeff Driskel. Keenum boasts one of the highest floors on this slate and has some of the highest upside.
Usable in: DraftKings Captain, DraftKings Flex, FanDuel MVP, FanDuel Flex,
Phillip Lindsay- $18,300 DraftKings Captain, $12,200 DraftKings Flex, $15,000 FanDuel Flex
If you’re looking for a high floor non-quarterback, Phillip Lindsay is in a perfect matchup going up against the Raiders. The Raiders have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to opposing running back. The Raiders have allowed seven running backs to rush for 78 yards or more in their last eight games. Lindsay is a much better play on FanDuel than DraftKings as his price is much higher on DraftKings. He may not enough upside without scoring two touchdowns to be placed in the Captain or MVP spot, but he is the non-quarterback you want in this game.
Usable in: DraftKings Captain, DraftKings Flex, FanDuel MVP, FanDuel Flex,
Tim Patrick- $10,200 DraftKings Captain $6,800 DraftKings Flex, $10,500 FanDuel
Patrick is not getting the love that DaeSean Hamilton and Courtland Sutton have gotten this season, but Patrick is a player who quietly is performing and comes at a discounted price this week on DraftKings. Patrick has seen 18 targets over the last two games which are second on the team and comes in $1,200 cheaper than DaeSean Hamilton. Patrick is a big receiver in 6 feet four inches that should see red zone opportunities this week. On FanDuel, both he and DaeSean Hamilton are in play as Hamilton is $500 cheaper than Patrick.
Usable in: DraftKings Flex, FanDuel Flex,
Jared Cook- $14,700 DraftKings Captain $9,800 DraftKings Flex, $13,000 FanDuel
There is not a ton to love about this Raiders offense, but if there is a bright spot it has been Jared Cook. The Broncos secondary is a strong one, but if they have a weakness, it has been defending receiving tight ends. Two weeks ago, George Kittle had one of the best performances ever from a tight end as he had 210 yards and a touchdown. This is a unit that has allowed 105 yards to Will Dissly, 78 yards to Travis Kelce, 79 yards to Travis Kelce second time they faced each other, and 80 yards to Antonio Gates. The Broncos did keep Cook in check in their first meeting of the season with just 49 yards so there is some risk, but that was back in Week 2 and this is a Raiders team that has transformed into moving the ball through Jared Cook.
Usable in: DraftKings Captain, DraftKings Flex, FanDuel MVP, FanDuel Flex,
Royce Freeman- $2,400 DraftKings Captain $1,600 DraftKings Flex, $7,000 FanDuel
We already talked about how great this rushing matchup is on Monday for the Broncos, but if you are looking to find a way to go with a stars and scrubs lineup in this game, Freeman is the player that allows you to do this. Freeman is averaging 8.9 carries per game, but in games in which they have gotten off to a big lead, Freeman has solid upside as in the three games that the Broncos have led by a touchdown or more for a significant amount of time of the game, Freeman saw 13.3 carries per game. If the Broncos can get out to a lead in this game, Freeman will see a significant amount of volume. Using Freeman in the Captain spot is a bit risky, but if something were to happen with Lindsay or if the Broncos get off to a big lead, Freeman could win a GPP for you.
Usable in: DraftKings Captain, DraftKings Flex, FanDuel Flex,
