Staff Confidence Pool (No Spread) Week 12

Weekly Staff Confidence Pool (No Spread). NFL Office Pool Cheat Sheet

Looking to dominate your office pool this season? Fifteen Footballguys.com staff members are here to help you out. Each week they will pick the winners of every NFL game, and rank their selections based on how confident they are that the team will win. The most-confident pick gets 16 points, and the least-confident gets just 1. We'll even total up everyone's picks so you can get an overall consensus on who our staff think will be the most likely winners. Each week we'll announce the weekly winners, and track the overall record for the entire season. A couple of things to note before we get to the picks:

  • Picks for this pool are straight up (no point spread considered).
  • Picks are due on Wednesday nights, and will not reflect any late-breaking news. If your league allows for last minute changes, please make adjustments to your office pool accordingly.
  • Our staffers also play in weekly picks Against The Spread, and Survivor Style 'Pick one Winner each week' formats as well. Check out the other weekly articles for more help with those type of games.

RESULTS FROM LAST WEEK

It was a rough week for people making confidence pool picks as some of the heavy favorites went down and many of the other 'expected' winners did not come out. Jeff Haseley weathered the storm to finish at the top of the leaderboard with just 58 points. Not only is that the lowest total for a weekly winner all season, but 58 points is the lowest score of any staffer since week 7.

Upset losses by the Chargers, Falcons, Panthers, and Cardinals cost the board over 500 total confidence points. In fact, the Chargers were the team that the staff was most confident would win their contest last week. Losses by Kansas City, Green Bay, and Tennessee took down more than 100 confidence points as well.

OVERALL RANKINGS

Tuccitto gained 10 points on the top two teams, but the top of the leaderboard remained the same. It's shaping up to be a three-team race to the finish.

HEAVY FAVORITES

Last week didn't scare too many people off of backing the favorites this week. For Thanksgiving day, Chicago, Dallas, and New Orleans were all strong favorites with Dallas and New Orleans being unanimous choices. Houston was a unanimous choice on Monday night as well. For Sunday, the Ravens, Chargers, and Colts were all picked by everyone in this week's contest and New England and Pittsburgh were picked by nearly everyone as well. Minnesota vs. Green Bay has the unique position of being the game that received the least total confidence points (54) of every game, but the Vikings were picked by everyone except Brimacombe.

DUAL SUPPORT

Jacksonville at Buffalo was the next lowest game from an overall confidence point allocation, but the Jaguars are a strong favorite in that game as well. Buffalo does have a couple backers though as both of these teams have blown hot and cold all season. The toughest game to call was the Browns and Bengals - which basically looks like a coin flip from the point allocations. The Bengals get a slight edge for being at home though.

ODDS AND ENDS

After the Monday Night Football scoring frenzy, the Rams and the Chiefs needed a break. They are the last two teams to have a bye this season, so the maximum potential score is 120 and after this, it's 136 to the end.

Note: Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, picks for this week were due from the Staff by Tuesday night. Most of the weekly practice news will come out well after this article is published so if your league allows late swaps, please follow the weekly camp news and make adjustments accordingly.

NOTE2: Chase Daniels was announced as Chicago's starting quarterback on Thanksgiving AFTER this article was published.

Good luck this weekend!
