Outlook
This is the defense which truly was the reason Alex Smith and the 49ers were in the playoffs. A smothering front seven and a very good secondary make the Niners possibly the best defense in the league for 2012. Even with Dashon Goldson still holding out, this is a secondary which has been able to produce against great teams and will face three so-so teams six times in the coming season. There is a ton of opportunity to generate fantasy points as a stud fantasy defense in 2012.
