Week 16: vs Philadelphia Eagles
Mark and Joe say: Great matchup. Washington had 28/84/1 rushing against the Eagles back in Week Three - Alfred Morris toted the rock the most with 23/77/0 on the day. Lately, Morris has been the steady workhorse back despite the turmoil at quarterback - he recorded 14/49/0 rushing at New York last week, but struggled against the Rams two games ago (8/6/0 rushing with 1/11/0 receiving). Morris usually sees an uptick in performance when Robert Griffin III is in the game (Griffin had 5/46/0 rushing at New York last week), so we may see a strong performance from Morris here in Week 16. The Eagles average 113.9 rushing yards allowed per game (18th in the NFL), with 10 rushing scores given out to date. They coughed up 42/115/2 to the Cowboys last week, right on their usual pace, and allowed 46/188/1 to Seattle two weeks ago. The Eagles' rush D is mediocre-to-poor from week to week of late. Advantage Washington.
Recent Stats and Projections
Latest NewsRedskins | Darrel Young punching it in (Sat Dec 20, 06:41 PM) - Washington Redskins FB Darrel Young has two rushing touchdowns through three quarters Saturday, Dec. 20. Our View: Those who started Alfred Morris had a good night, but it would have been a great night had he--and not Young--had scored those two short-yardage touchdowns. Morris finished with 83 yards on the ground plus one rushing score.
